IMO people who haven't played Diablo 1, 2 or TQ should be banned from posting feedback

How can you expect GGG to receive quality feedback when the majority of posters base their judgments and opinions on *snickers* Diablo 3?

People who haven't played action RPGs which are not diablo clones, should not be able to post opinions about PoE.

In context there is some validity. You would weigh someones opinion on rocket science more if they were actually a rocket scientist rather then some random person. Then you would weigh a well paid rocket scientists opinion on something more then a crackpots.

The best sword ever in Diablo 1 was a Kings sword of Haste and I'm positive its not even half as rare as a mid level unique in this game.

Raymond's diablo trainer much? That sword was damn difficult to find before everyone started to have it. If you got it dropped in SP then gz obviously but not in multi.
who uses sword when you can have staff of apocalyps
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

You could get a one of those swords or something similar just by checking wirt every game. I've never used any kind of Diablo trainer or walkthrough I just played it a ton.

The chances of that were like getting a 5l at a PoE vendor. Each way to Wirt was slow and long too. And how many (near) perfect Dragon's Ring of the Zodiac etc. did you find yourself in D1?

I played D1 a ton but I'm starting to think I have now put more hours into PoE and I distinctly remember finding some really awesome stuff in D1. I didn't find Dragons ring of zodiac but I did find a dragons ring of wizardry which I wanted just as much.

Also I disagree about the 5L at vendor. I bought quite a few very good pieces at wirt but I never expect to find a 5L at vendor.

The best legit apoc staff was a bountiful staff of apocalypse and even a perfect one didn't last very long before running out of charges.

Your probably thinking of the hacked apoc staffs that had thousands and thousands of charges.

That's a poor analogy. The analogy here would be "no one can be a rocket scientist unless they previously worked on the Apollo 8"

I bought 5l items from vendors and also remember the huge piles of crap Wirt tried to sell me. ;)

Remember Thinking Cap? You had to farm specific shrines to raise its durability or you'd lose the item right away in combat. It was the Mage's BIS helm. I like to think about the shitstorm such a "mechanic" would provoke here. The new Chis recipe is relatively tame in comparison.

I played D1 a lot in the 90s. Almost noone traded, because of dupes and cheats. Gearing for PVE was way easier than here but getting the very good PVP stuff was just as hard.

Sometimes that would be nice, like how driving a Nissan Maxima doesn't automatically qualify you to race in Nascar.

Not at all.

The true analogy that your hideous fanboyisms fail to grasp, would be:

You cannot work on apollo 14, if your only real world experience with space was tying a camera to a balloon.

I think people whose sole dining experience has been eating at mcdonalds should not decide how high end restaurants are run.

Fix't.

That thread topic is total nonsense. Just as the classification of games like this is and even more the notion that once you classified a game by your own arbitrary standards it may only function in one way and any other opinion is wrong.

If people like the OP were in charge of developing games we would still all play Pong.
