Character name exists.

I got BrettTheHitmanHart and ItsAGoodDayToDie. No complaints.
A man, shirtless, wearing black leather boots and long gloves, a torturer's apron at his waist, shank in hand, surrounded by dead babies.
yea, ive yet to legitly find their character count limit aswell.

My new duelist is StabbyMcStabberPants. Not my first choice. but i still think their naming system needs an overhaul.
i'm actually glad that they did not use your account's name. i hated it on d3 when nobody could see your character name. there's a lot of fun names you can make for your character. i don't want to be stuck using my account name for everything. i think up new funny names all the time.

OH! got in with Breifcase, who would of thought?

Yeah, as annoying as it is, and I've tried names I never thought anyone would ever use, it does lend itself to humor.

And just for the record, "Briefcase" is FTMFW!

Well this is a different community then others you may have participated in. I may be SuperWarrior in WoW and EQ 2, but here if someone else has that name, well then they are the SuperWarrior of this community.

I know it's going to get annoying after a while, but as long as you take a few seconds and think of a name unique to you, you can get a moniker that is fitting.

P.S. When everyone can be SuperWarrior, it isn't so super anymore. :[

where i can agree with you on that, with no way to prevent "name farming" as seen in D2, great names are snatched up, held on accounts for eventual sale via d2jsp. even not so great names (ie: everything imaginable) are snatched and sold at lesser values. names that are 3 letters long, regardless of order are exceptionally valuable in a for sale system. ditto on 4 letters, but to a lesser extent, so on and so on until you get extremly long names, or craptacular mashups.

Sure, you may be a SuperWarrior today, but in a years time you are ThisWasTheOnlyNameNotTaken.

in the real world, you would be up against many "SuperWarrior's" luckily, IRL every new child born doesent need a unique name (as hard as parents try)

this is not what i said at all, and also not true of d3.

Your character name would be just that, a character name. linked to your account. In game, you would be whatever you titled yourself, if someone added you as a friend, they would add your account instead.

People really sit around hoarding names for eventual resale? Yiiikes

and now that you know, i bet it doesent even seem farfetched.
No, it doesn't surprise me. It just kinda makes me sad that people would ruin something as simple as naming your character just to make two cents off you.

I suppose that's the modern day view of the world though, how can I make money and do nothing at the same time.
