Character name exists.

I understand that this is a popular game and all, but can names not be tied to a parent account name? I dont get why in 2013 im having to make up names just to get a character started. after trying over and over again to grab a name that isnt totally rediculus here is where im at.

heres some examples of how farmed names are.

Saltine - Taken
Coffeecup - Taken
Bicycle - Taken
Tubular - Taken

OH! got in with Breifcase, who would of thought?

anywho, a game such as this with as big of a following it has, nobody will be able to grab a name they actually want after every word in the dictionary, and every name in books of names are taken, leaving only mash-up names, and random letters left for the ones that arent just farming names for the hell of it.

Ill continue to play, even with a mash-up name, but this is something that seems to me to be an easily corrected oversight. take d3 for example, Everything is tied to your battletag. You can name all your characters the same thing if you want.

Personally, i would love to see a similar change here.

Grats on the name, though I'm guessing "Briefcase" is taken.

I don't care either way. I enjoy being creative with my names, but I'd have no problems using the same names as I always do if given the choice.

A name is just a name.
This may be something you'll want to post in the 'suggestion' forum.

When you're right, no one remembers. When you're wrong, no one forgets.
Im just surprised i got SnozzBerry ._.
My Kiwi's name is Fluffy.
It eats souls and small children.
Don't fuck with Fluffy.
Yeah I was really saddened by the naming system straight out of 1999. All four of my main names were gone in June, probably in use by people that tested the beta then abandoned the game.
There's a lot more availability if you don't use English ;)

My main beef with the names is that they don't allow spaces. Lot easier to be unique if you can use a short phrase, title or whatever. Like "LORD Saltine" ;)

And real life names, in English and other languages/cultures too, often have multiple parts.

You can use an underscore _ so something like Lord_Saltine would work.

underscore is so friggin ugly, id_rather_not

I do feel your pain about names- I was bummed I didn't get quite a few that I was after. But such is life...
All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.
