Is this considered a good CoC dagger?
I haven't really messed with CoC. I'm wanting to know if this is a good dagger for it. Thanks.

Looks pretty decent to me. Does it vendor for an Augmentation orb/have an additional prefix left? I think you might be able to exalt it for more spell damage (assuming you get lucky enough).
Not that I'm an expert on these things either... Last edited by KG31459#1353 on Jan 17, 2014, 11:53:27 AM

the only major criteria for a coc dagger is that,
it has stupid attack speed and a high base crit chance. everything else is gravy. the crit chance for spells is not necessary as the spells dont proc. in order base crit chance around 10 aps around 1.5 and then spell damage. the therory behind coc builds is that you want to get as many hits in as possible , though theoretically you want your dagger to do as little damage as possible while procing as much as possible. While not a CoC build expert, I would imagine that is a decent dagger for CoC. The local crit is pretty good, as are the spell damage/crit modifiers (not stellar, but respectable). If I were to "fault" the item it would be on the grounds that it lacks good local damage (not really a major concern for a CoC build, granted) and the attack speed is, IMO, low.
I don't know about trade values, but I doubt the dagger in question would trade for much. That doesn't mean you couldn't have a total blast using it on a CoC dagger build. |

well for the sake of argument let us assume the op wants to acquire a dagger on a budget .
in which case the only 2 things that really really matter.. would be a high base crit and aps after those two are met the next best thing to get is spell damage. personally i would not recommend getting daggers with spell crit or both spell damage and spell crit as they multiply the price tag by a factor of 10. also things like a high physical roll on the dagger are also unnecessary and serve only to bloat the price tag substantially. so to answer the ops question about that specific dagger , it is decent but not ideal. it has low aps and no aps mod , most good coc dagger ive seen have an aps of 1.6+ so that is a fair bit of aps missing. also the base crit is a little low but still pretty good. " But the spells can crit, right? 30% spell damage and 140% total spell crit is what seemed nice to me, plus the high chance to proc due to local crit. It "seemed" like an excellent crit discharge dagger to me, but I don't really know about these things, which is why I asked. I am wanting to know so that I don't vendor or undersell daggers, because I have trouble with "pricing" when it comes to daggers. Looks like a Divinarius:
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Divinarius If it's spell crit you are after then know that daggers get much more: 80% local 100% increased Critical Strike Chance for Spells edit : if it's attack crit then 9 is great. http://wideo.co/view/449781379368063514-inexs-journey-for-the-8-stars (Music: Odd Look) I am the guy behind price check forums yay: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/387787 (i think.) The attack speed is really low and no spell damage. I would personally rather buy a 1.4+ dagger with 8% crit and any amount of spell damage over that dagger.

" make no mistake , if you happen to FIND a dagger with spell crit , it can only help you. but again it is not the most important part of the build. the biggest parts about the build is that you proc often. and the best way to do that is high base crit high base aps. if you built your char right , you should have plenty of crit already. 300% from power charges and minium 300% from passives. and then a bunch from thingsl ike mailigaros , gifts from above and rats nest for another 200% ish. 100% more crit chance than say a 40% crit dagger , sounds like alot , but when you have 800 crit chance. the extra 100% is really not all that important. it is important to get things you cannot readily access from passive on your weapon. you cant get base crit from passives you cant get base aps from passives you can get spell crit , mana and spell damage from passives. thus they are not necessary. or at the very least not AS important as the aps and base crit. that particular dagger might be better suited for something like an ice crit witch , since spell crit and spell damage are really the only two mods that matter to those kind of builds.
