Great Game but FOV is too narrow.

When you have eyefinity or are playing across 3 monitors or 2 or what have you like I do, you run into the problem with the FOV being too narrow in a BIG way, the stuff that is on the far left and right screens are almost 5 times as large as they are in the center. This is really bad for people who like to have more visual real estate in there games.
Little beats big when little is smart, first with the head then wit the heart.
I'd like to see the FoV increased. I understand the reason for why GGG limited the FoV, but at max zoom-out I can still determine the gender of ants so, um, ya...
.
Also agree with OP. It takes a few weeks to get used to the FOV in this game.

I can't really explain why but it doesn't feel natural, never felt this playing other isometric games, all diablos, fallouts, etc.

It kinda goes away after you get use to it though.
I tend to agree with what Cronk said above. I could be wrong, but PoE seems to use a more elevated camera view than previous games in the genre, thus seemingly squashing the vertical viewable distance. The new widescreen monitor dimensions enhance this effect.

The benefit of this raised camera angle comes in dungeon areas, making it easier to peer over top of walls rather than needing to make them become translucent in some situations.

The FOV is fine, I just wish we could rotate the camera.

Nothing worse than starting on the north end of a map, and having to travel south the entire way.

FOV is waay too narrow (and too slanted, you see much more in northerly direction and to the sides than towards south, which is also a huge annoying immerison breaker - I'm more near-sighted when looking south than north... another mysterious fantasy ailment perhaps? the "south-sightedness"?)

Increase Fov, put range on ranged attacks (duh, now that's a brilliant solution, i dunno how i came up with it) and you're golden.

Sadly I've passed this game twice already because of the fov issues and I don't think I'm alone in this. I find the basic game experience, the very act of looking at screen and moving my char around, deeply unpleasant and annoying which is not the kind of experience I'm looking for in a game. It's not whining - it's fact. I can't bring myself to play this game no matter how much I want to. Some players here may call me a whiner, but I'm sure devs would probably call me something else - like "potential customer", "wallet" or maybe even a "whale we didn't get to meet"

I agree with this. Not to use it as a tactical advantage, but to make it less strenuous on the eyes. It also took me a week or so to get used to the zoom, and at first when starting PoE it was almost enough to make me quit. But being persistent I simply adapted. Even so, I'd like to see at least the zoom changed a tick out, maybe even two, but one would do wonders.

I love pie.
GGG has responded to this in the past

+FOV means:

Rewrite of sync code is required (monsters/chests/etc have to be loaded in from further away and pre-loaded sooner; monster ai needs to have its range increased)
Rebalance of archers/ranged attackers is required (they can see further and kite from further away)
Hardware issues (toasters can't play this game as easily)

Just going to leave this here. The FOV or zoom level is too close. It's playable, but it is really really annoying. It doesn't need to be changed drastically but another notch out would do wonders. The game world feels very tiny and cramped. Feels like playing in 800x600 resolution kind of.

It is me, playing on 800x600 on my laptop recently due to some reason, but once get used to it there's no problem except some eastern words are not recognizable lol.
You won't have my gear.
