Is Prismatic Eclipse Twilight Blade too weak?

My buddy dual weilds them, breaks 11 attacks per second with pure green socks in gear. Over 600% increased attack speed on a reaver.

Unless they changed it, the affecting sockets are only from the weapon.

well without his two prismatics, he only gets about 225% attack speed increase, so if its not coming from them, where is it coming from?

The weapon only generates bonuses from its own sockets, but those bonuses are global. I intended the weapon to fill a mid-level to high level range, so it should be good into 66-67 maps and such, but not be a 'best in slot'. I sent a message to Rory regarding the base damage of the weapon to see if it couldn't be tooled up slightly, but I imagine he has higher priority projects.
Its nice when you want mana drain, 6% is nothing to be laughed at, specially if you are using it as offhand for skills that do not alternate between weapons.
With only three sockets per sword, Prismatic Eclipse's global boosts can't mount up that high. And for the 10% increased block chance mod, I'd sooner dual-wield a pair of Essentia Sanguis claws:

Wait.... is there a difference when using a weapon in the left or right slot ? :D :D

Some skills (like Double Strike) will only use the main hand weapon to attack so you can stick a weapon with high damage in the main hand slot & a weak weapon with good general bonuses in the off hand slot.

Well you can get really high benefits from a pure green weapon. I'm not so sure about the pure red it seems a bit bad, since it is just an increase and you normally have a lot of other sources for %increased physical damage.

Dual-Wielding two of them is propably not a good idea. But well it is just a very offensive off-hand, nothing more. If you need a shield, take a shield, but if you don't need it, it is a very nice option. The other thing is that you could switch it for a shield whenever you like. Your char is well equiped and you don't have trouble doing certain things. Like doing some Piety runs with a char well equiped for high maps, just switch the shield with a pure green sword and get going.

The blue socket thing however is a bit dissappointing... exspecially considering how hard it is to roll blue sockets on the sword. I would have expected something with crit, since both other modifiers are offensive-oriented.

I love this weapon! It's very unique and fun to use with the socket part of it. I currently use R G B on it, mainly for the mana leech. I tried to roll 2 B's but after like 30 chromes I gave up >_<

I found it in docks while leveling my self-found only dual wield scion, and now I currently use it at level 69. It's a good weapon I enjoy it, I wish it was stronger though, for such a fun weapon it's pretty underwhelming DPS wise :( It's serving me well right now until I find an upgrade though!

I was going to try offhanding it and using double strike instead of dual strike, the 10% block and added stats is very nice.

If its only affected by its own sockets, then why have any effects for white sockets? Its not possible to roll white sockets on a prismatic eclipse.

A great offhand weapon. Sadly, few players use it as DW is not much popular nowadays, and it's a bit niche, as it's really good when used in DW block build.
