As long as you keep the double phase. It made my day the first time i popped the shell off of a crap only for it to run away and shoot me.

I hope there are similar multi-stage enemies planned they are great and really mix things up.
I don't mind multi-stage mobs, but why are they so tanky ??
Both forms tank more than most of the melee mobs whereas they are small and ranged (for the second form). I don't mind for the first form because it has a carapace, but the little shooting crab is broken. I believe it's the most annoying thing in the game at the moment.

how about just having 2 types of crabs: the shelled ones and the ranged spitters (i.e. the shelled ones dont BECOME the ranged ones after you "kill" them)

i HATE having to kill these things twice. period.

I find it cool too ,but it need one change in my opinion.
The change should apper when reaching some point of x%hp in enemy bar ,rather than feeling like killing two seperate things. There could be small heal during the change ,like change occours on 30% hp left ,and during it the monster restore HP to 50% of the max.

Thank God. When I see them I think 'not again'.
Just a follow up, not on crabs, but on mobs with large life, and the +182%, +50% life mods and 1.2% life regen: I also ran into some constructs in ruthless/crossroads as a lvl 42 ranger. This one (without the +50% life) I could kill:

though only because double strike/multiple projectile is so imbalanced/overpowered right now (whichever you prefer).

These ones with both +life mods, I couldn't (since I was nearly killed by the previous titan right after taking the last shot, I just captured their mods and didn't try to pose them):

Poison definitely didn't seem to stop the life regen (not sure if there is any mod that does that right now) and probably with enough persistence (and maybe 5 mana flasks on my belt) I could've taken them down eventually, but maybe something to consider.

You will find these 1.2%/sec, 15% life leech guys in Chaos all the time. They are really tough and even the lvl 70 guys need to hit them quite a bit to kill them ^^

I had no problems killing them in the end, but I can see how some of these are about "unkillable" (my marauder would not even scratch them, I am afraid).
Id be happy if they just removed the stupid crabs from the game altogether i love thgis game but dam i HATE that the crabs have like 4x the hp hit harder than bosses and spawn with unkillable mods (to my marauder(ruthless) at least).
Lol the end boss of the game should be a normal slinger from the ledge.

The normal crabs are bad enough, but as a clvl 33 ranger in the ruthless/tidal passage 1, I had to give up trying to kill this (lvl 35) crab boss...I couldn't take his life down.

Thats like a lvl 35 area. You need to lvl up...

He shouldnt be forced to level up.

I HATE the crabs in this game. They are so freakin annoying. And not in a cute Navi "Hey, Listen!" kind of way, but a "holy shit I hate crabs" kind of way.
The purpose of argument should not be victory, but progress.
