It is not. That is why.
The current behavior is, when you place 5 mines, and you press the detonate button, it detonate all of the mines but not one by one.
Edit: the current behavior is simultaneous, not instantaneous.
Are you under some assumption that instantaneous means one by one? Instantaneous means instant, that's all.

And how is that different from the description that Daniel or the node state?
Do mines normally detonate one by one but once you get the node they all detonate at once? I'm pretty sure they always detonate in unison, regardless of whether you have the node or not.
How can read "detonate multiple mines at the same time" from "detonating mines instantaneous"?
From the Collins dictionary, instant seems not mean multiple things happen at the same time.

They explode all at once? That's the textbook definition of INSTANT... Otherwise they would explode one after another. *facepalm*
And that's NOT something the passive does, have you played BLINDFOLDED to not see this before?
Yes, you AND your English teacher should BOTH be ashamed...

Mines always detonate simultaneously. The passive node does not affect this.
Usually the act of your character detonating mines takes a short amount of time. The passive node removes this time.

OP, it's fine to not understand the mechanics of the game regardless of langauge skills, but you really don't have to act the way you have been.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the passive. What's wrong is your understanding of it.
As the devs have pointed out here, mine triggering is ALWAYS simultaneous regardless of passive node.

Please read Daniel's explanation, "all at once" is default behavior, not modified by INSTANT. The textbook...

Before I allocated the passive node, i just spam R for mines and D for detonate, so the number of mines at left top corner just jumps between 3 and 5, therefore I thought it was detonated one by one.
Anyway, thanks to Daniel to point it out. I also found this info from http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Mines and verified it in game. Thanks a lot. I will buy another pack soon to support this game.
EDIT: Got the new supporter title:)

Please read what you quoted there. I STATED that it's NOT from the passive.
BUT:
If they exploded all at once BEFORE, why should they stop doing that AFTER taking the passive?
The passive NEVER influenced the order in which stuff explodes...

No worries misunderstanding happen all the time in this game. I like the way you bought a supporter pack after the issue got sorted :-) now if only more people appreciated dev responses in the same way... Heh
