Thoughts on the new Fishing Rods?

I was very skeptical when the fishing related threads first started out - it didnt help that people decided to be vague and smug dropping hints here and there.

but now, a number of VERIFIED rods have been linked - and even a unique (drop from coward's trial boss) and in that thread a GGG developer also clarified that it was indeed meant as a drop (and not some hidden recipe reward).

So the rods do exist - I dont see how / why anyone is still pretending they dont.

Their exact usage now will go through the whole smug/hint cycles - which is fine with me :)

Yeah, that's what i'm asking myself all the time when i see these threads. Usually people find stuff and it gets public pretty fast. It is a little bit suspicious that this fishing stuff is such a mystery. Smells fishy. ;D

You were saying? It's a cowbell for dead people. We also have an item that gets bonuses from white sockets (but can't get them).

Nah, I'd say POE most likely will have a secret Rhoa level or something, since Albino Rhoa Feathers already exist and have unknown purpose.

the rhoa feather thing is just another gag isnt it? never found one in more than one year of playing.

As far as I know, only unique Rhoa from Mud Flats can drop them.

There is one unique rhoa which is always in mud flat and there is (maybe?) another unique rhoa which is extremely rare. The latter one is interesting here...
(I wasted like 3-4h running around mud flats and didn't see it once, hard to continue the hunt becuase it's one of the most boring things you can do)

its uber-rare

like trying to find an Eternal/Mirror in mud flats.

i even made a dedicated albino rhoa farm char, without any success tho. i gave up.
