Any plans for macro support - for gaming mice - Razor Naga etc.
I have a razor naga rpg mouse, and although i don't really play WoW they have a macro style application you can download specifically for WoW.
I know that such an application could open doors for possible hacking, but has any kind of support of this nature been considered and if so what was the general feeling of these discussions. The first rule of fight club is.... wear a cup!

I think there will intentionally be no macro support whatsoever, just from my feeling how GGG rolls in terms of game design philosophy.

Pressing them buttons accurate and fast is a player skill that is supposed to give you an advantage if you are good at it - especially in PvP.

" I agree 100% for PvP and macros could never be as fast as a good player in those regards. But for those all night PvE leveling marathons, its nice to have a few shortcuts The first rule of fight club is.... wear a cup!

The point is that macros are in fact always faster than a player manually pressing a combination of buttons. Switch from bow to shield plus one handed weapon and perform a shield charge on your enemy? You can do this by pressing one button with macros. This is the reason why I doubt there will be macro support in this game.
As for PvE, it has been stated that PoE is supposed to be a hard game. Of course this does not mean that controls should be intentionally non-userfriendly (they are already very user-friendly for the state the beta is in) BUT macros are making the game easier than it is supposed to be. " yeah but to get the macro to the point that it can do a switch and charge reliably in a good time isn't an easy matter (at least from my experience) I in no means am looking for a way to make the game any easier, but when your are playing for extended periods of time time savig macros, that just do simple things like switch and use skill with one button, or a better example is with d2 I like to have a macro that selects tp and opens it in one button press, helps on extended plays (as sometimes I dont like to have to have to use the keyboard at all, because of my laptop setup in relation in my sofa, it can be hard work on my back) These kind of marcos don't give an advantage of make the game easier, but offer say accessability options for mouse only play etc. Not that im saying im disabled but these people could benefit from this as well. But yes it is a very fine line between advantage and conveniance, and i'd be suprised (and impressed) if a system could be introduced that could skate that line well. " :) guess I asked for that one. Was just using the tp thing as an example with diablo 2. The first rule of fight club is.... wear a cup!

I do not think that there is a need for macros in the game that seems to be at least partly a spiritual successor of Diablo II. This is not your usual MMO game with 30 usable keys on screen and blinking-action-press-stuff going continuously.
