Without Marylene's that 725% inc becomes 635% inc, 1,102.5% crit multi, and 1890% multi after curse (Marylene's provides, funny enough, an additional 160% multi compared to a 70% rare amulet, after casting a 100 ex curse.

Now apply that 21.5x damage to three or four dagger attacks with a proliferating HoA and watch the world burn. Or.. do the same thing with 19.9x damage without Marylene's...

Now, if you don't have 100 ex to blow just on your curse alone, presumably you also have other cheaper gear, you might be looking at ~1000% multi, cheaply (just a 20/20 Assassin's Mark, maybe a regular Empower/Enhance). Not enough to build around, IMO.

I was dead certain there was some secret to this unique, but after some hard mathing its drawback yields a net loss even after heavy speccing to compensate. Under no circumstance I can think of (Like HoA is the only way I could think that's really useful, you only need one crit) would this be better to use than, say, this:

... even if you have 0% block chance... because SoL doesn't decrease your deeps ^-^

If you only look on your DpS number, Marylene's Fallacy cannot win. Never.

The only chance this amulet has is for some niche build ideas.
Like "spam 20+ hits per second with an attck or spell and benefit from the huge crit multi once you get a crit".
Or with a skill like Puncture where only the eventual crit counts.

Such build ideas are not too promising however, you can get similar playstyles without any drawback, so Marylene's Fallacy is probably a fail unique.

Edit: lol, just noticed I wrote almost the same post a couple of months ago.

I love how XX% increased critical strike chance is based off the base of the weapon and XX% less critical strike chance is based off the total critical strike chance.

Needs some rewording much? Unless there is a difference between increase/decrease vs more/less.

If there is a no difference, seems pretty unfair to me.

As someone said, there's a difference between increase/decrease and more/less in that the latter are applied second.

In addition, the XX% increased critical strike chance on weapons is a local weapon modifier, just like "XX% increased physical damage." Almost everything on weapons is a local modifier except a couple things on uniques I can't remember because they're annoying.

Foxshade is useful at level you can equip it. Finding a better chest for that level isnt easy.

This amulet is never useful. You always can find a better amulet VERY easily.

Not true! It is very useful and I never found a better looking amulet skin. ;)

Found one with 40%....This can work on daggers with spell but will be glass cannon.
