Torture chamber map boss Shock and Horror Much harder after patch?

Facetanking is not skill.
I'm personally torn on what to think about this boss design.

On the one hand, it's perfectly fine to have "really hard" (ie: requiring specific class/gear/spec) bosses in games. It's essentially the same as progression-level raiding in MMO's, minus the ability to actually gear up for them, and although I'm not personally a fan of "brick wall" encounters in games which block and frustrate 99% of the player base, I'm not going to assert that there's no place for them in games. And in this case, GGG even put the boss in a separate area, so once you realize it's impossible for you, you can easily do the rest of the map without doing the boss.

On the other hand, it feels aggravating and tedious to have these "insta-death" land mines in various places in the game, forcing the player to keep a mental/actual spreadsheet of where they are not allowed to go [by the design of the game]. To me, a better designed game would allow the players to overcome hard challenges, rather than making them so inaccessible that only the highest geared players in the game could hope to beat them, and long after they were of any value for those players to do so.

Anyway, just my 2c on this boss design.
Done this boss today for the first time, lvl86 Mara.
I did read about it before attempting it, however I probably missed the part about the shock beam, which caught me out of guard and killed me once.

However 2nd attempt was just fine, I did hide behind pillars when she channeled beams, used topaz flasks and nuke adds to recharge flasks. It was a very intense fight :D
Map mods was shocking grounds and don't remember what else. Imo the boss is hard, but very easy if you stay focused and don't do mistakes, you can basically avoid all the attacks.

I can understand the frustration for HC players, but I think challenging boss fights adds a lot to the game. I love farming Dominus, even tho now is quite easy I still have to pay attention.
What I would like to see actually, is better drops from hardest bosses :D
Higher risks should yeld higher rewards!
My next goal now is to kill Jungle Valley boss, I got lol owned very hard.

6500 HP, 27k Heavy, 15k aoe, 77res, 460 life regen, 5600 AR.

Jungle Valley is a lot easier than this boss. With Aegis, jungle Valley is no problem. Hell, I do jungle Valley fine while wearing Abyssus with -60 chaos res and only 3.8k HP.

This boss on the other hand gives you very little room for mistakes. Even with high light res, you better be sure you kill it before you run out of topaz charges or else you will die.
It's strong it's crashed the game!
Just don't bother if you don't have the gear for it. It's not like you will lose out on anything from skipping one boss. The risk to reward ratio is just not worth it regardless of what league you are in. What I find out of place is that a level 72 map boss is about 10 times harder than most bosses on higher level maps.
i went into torture chamber with minus max resist mod and elemental weakness + turbo once just for see and for know.
it was only 5seconds and i died instantly.

edit: shock and horror should replace merveil vaal piety and dominus.
i would bask in its glory.

So true... None of the act bosses have such an OP skill as this map boss.
I do wish GGG would buff lower act bosses in maps. I remember when Merveil could perma freeze you with cold snap and shoot ice spears from across the room. She lets you casually walk from door to her now.
Boss hits as hard as dominus from 78 map. needs a nerf. asap
