Aren't RF builds extremly punished from certain Map Mods?

Why I'm talking about this? Well, rolling maps with trans/augment/alts is viable, you just need to avoid these mods using some more alts, not very expensive. But when you start running higher ones with alch/scour/chaos, you will meet a lot of times these mods, and you need to choose: run it without RF (why I make this build then???) or just drop another chaos, and another, and another, and... If you choose to make an EK build with Crit, you will be able to run these mods easily and reach the same DPS (or even higher), so, what are my options? Struggle with this build wasting a lot of chaos rolling maps or make another char?

Rolling multiple characters is central not just to the game, but to the genre.

If you were setting out to roll only one character, why would you ever, ever, pick a one-trick pony build like RF?

You roll a bad map for one character, you run it with another; it's pretty simple. If you are ardently opposed to rolling multiple characters, you can trade the map anyway to someone else equally stubborn for a map they can't run. :)
i think i found a way to deal with most of map mods as a rf:

(u need godly gear, and only doable in standard though )
my builds:
- COLB (Cast On Last Breath) first ever build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1632595

Most builds have map mods they can't do or they can do with great difficulty. How about playing an Elemental Equilibrium map when you have an Avatar of Fire build? How about playing a reduced mana map when you rely heavily on Arctic Armor for defense? How about playing a Chaos dot map when you are Vaal Pact?

All are difficult but you can do them. There are also builds that can get around those obstacles if they really wanted. A CI character can do a Blood Magic map if he is a summoner and brings in minions to do the killing. A Vaal Pact character can do a chaos map using Amethyst flasks to slow the regen down until he can hit something again. And a righteous fire character can get to 100% fire resists using Ruby flasks (75 + 2 Elemental Adaptation + 8 Rise of the Phoenix + 4 to 6 Purity of Fire with Aura Effect nodes, + 13 Ruby Flasks with 30% increased Flask Effect nodes = 102 to 104 Fire Resist). At 4.2 seconds per use and 5 Ruby flasks, you get 42 seconds of fire immunity so as long as you keep killing stuff your flasks will recharge.

I think the devs did a great job of making sure there is something that counters every build so one build doesn't face roll the whole game.

I didn't really read through the thread posts, but yeah RF can't do a lot of maps. Some other ones:

- Shocking ground is annoying because it makes you take more damage from RF.
- Totems can't be killed by RF, so you need another skill. This isn't all that bad, but if your map has a lot of totems it can be annoying.

You can run maps with these mods, but it just adds to the annoyance of playing RF builds.

They have to at least make it difficult because a build where you passively kill everything around you is a botter's wet dream
