man and god are one as well as man and science..the only true difference is how we choose to classify it.

Science and religion are not both attempting to do the same thing.

Science is a method to determine truth (the truth of an assumed metaphysical world), by observing patterns in our experiences, and describing these patterns with scientific models.

Religion is the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power.

However, philosophy is a study which is most relevant to the points you are making, which are philosophical, neither religious nor scientific.

If there was ever going to be any kind of thread where someone religious announced that they would like to play with other religious people...the thread would be shot down and torn apart by people who believe in whatever the hell they believe in that contradicts religion.

Philosophy is the pursuit of knowledge of reality. Being Atheist results in a lack of belief in anything higher than yourself. Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia is the fear of long words. It's all relevant and you have the freedom to believe in whatever you want. But all of it stems from believing in something. But the above definition of religion is by far the most unintelligent, naive, and blatantly disrespectful representation I have ever seen. "a superhuman controlling power"? Where is that even remotely portrayed when referencing a religion that is at least common? Religion is based on the belief that you are created by a higher being. God being the most common representation.

If you ask me, which I realize has no bearing given we are on an internet forum, surrounded by a multitude of beliefs and such, The individual who started this thread is likely more naive and opinionated that the religious throat shovers he envisions.
