Better safe than sorry.
It's not the general knowledge that concerns me, rather the specifics, and I'd just as soon not be a part of accidentally helping the multiboxer/botter community. Certainly I'm not going to waste my time and energy researching the subject to discover whether or not my specific concerns have already been exposed elsewhere on the net.

I love how you automatically group multi-boxing with botting.
Also, any technology that allows an input to be related to multiple PoE clients is enough for multi-boxing. Not really that hard.

I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed, were not in 2005 anymore where having multiple accounts is a bad thing. If you have multiple accounts and can play them all at the same time, good for you, if not, why should you give a shit?

Ever considered the pure economics of it? GGG just spent a ton of money on expanding their load capability and bandwidth, now did they spend that money to attract 60,000 players or 10,000 multiboxers? Sure they will be allowing free access, but it is in their hopes that enough players will buy into micro-transactions and other game related merchandise to pay costs and salaries. Is the multiboxing community going to be spending 6x as much per person as a normal player?
I can fully understand why GGG doesn't smile upon multiboxing from a pure economics aspect alone. As to arguments for any other reason against multiboxing, I'm sure you've read and dismissed them, but I thought perhaps the economic one might be a new one.
Cheers

- Multiboxing does not negatively effect a game.
- It will not negatively effect this game.
- It isn't as efficient as separate players.
- They couldn't stop it if they wanted to.
- Its become a near universally excepted practice to officially allow programs that make it easier.
- There is no good reason whatsoever for GGG to waste a single resource on dealing with this non issue.
- It will not cost GGG a penny in any way to ignore it. Suggesting that so many people will do it that it would put added strain on the servers is purely ignorant.
Its really getting sad that its 2013 and there are so many ignorant gamers out there still. multi-boxing, multi-clienting, effects of bots, piracy, etc. Do some damn research on a subject before you spew your ignorance.

Seven false statements and an explosive insult all nice and concise! *clap* *clap* *clap*
What's sad is to see so many anti-social gamers who really don't care if any of the points they argue are accurate or true, just as long as it satisfies the need to justify their behavior somehow. Guess you just have to get every last little advantage you can eh?
When I was multiboxing in Eve it was more of a power trip thing to be honest, not proud of that today, but at the time I didn't care what kind of impact I had on other players either. Hopefully that means I'm getting a bit more mature in my old age.
Frankly I hope GGG keeps an eye on it, and if it becomes a problem in any way, cracks down on it just as hard as any other form of exploitation.
