A Low Life Indicator

Perhaps some visual effect could be applied to the liquid contents of the life globe to indicate the status of being on low life. I was imagining something like a boiling effect -- something just strong enough to be able to notice immediately if it's important to you, but hopefully not too annoying if you're doing one of the crazy builds which keeps you below 35% all the time.

Of course, likely not before open beta. :)

Anyone has an opinion on this?

Question for you: if life/es/mana bars were added, and you could see your own above your character's head, would this be a "good enough" indicator for you?
It might not be a bad idea for a buff to appear in your buff bar when you're on low life as an indicator?

There is a plan to make it so reserving 65% of your life or more doesn't reduce your sight radius, by the way. Or at least, that's my understanding.

make it optional, thereby facilitating low-life builds!

The reduction in player light radius is not an indication of specifically low life, and as has been pointed out, happens gradually over the whole life range (although it does happen less before you get to the low life threshold, so that there's more radius left then than would otherwise be the case).

On the other hand, the light tinting red is a specific indication of being on low life that happens at the threshold (it occurs fully over roughly 37%-33%).

The thing is, the slight red tint is less than useless when you are in the heat of battle, and it requires you to make a split second decision. Whether you hit the panic flask above or below the threshold could mean a difference between life or death.

Doesn't really make a difference, since you still don't know when exactly you're below 35% life.

I had an idea of a glowing/flashing red life orb, so that you can easily tell. Boiling effect might be overkill though...
Instead of the reduced light (which makes you blind indoors and has no effect outdoors), how about something like this? Noticeable when it shows up, but unobtrusive enough to ignore if you're running a low health build.

That could work, but again, since it's on the perimeter, I'm not sure if it's noticeable enough. I really would like something that you can just look at and immediately know when you're on low life.

It should creep in closer to the center(though stops before it gets too close), or maybe have some blood splatter/dripping effect going on... I remember quite a few games did something like that(they were mostly FPS though).
Sweeping Maid
I have to say, the limited visibility is really annoying if you are running a low life build, for instance by reserving a large portion of your health, to force pain attunement or Blood Rage Attack Speed.
