Dealing with desync: how to make a /oos hotkey
Since GGG hasn't put in a shortcut to resync with the server we'll just have to make our own. Don't worry, it's very easy.
Step 1. Download AutoHotkey: http://www.autohotkey.com/ Step 2. Right click on your desktop, select new->text document Step 3. Name the file and replace .txt with .ahk (for example PoE.ahk Step 4. Open the text file. Step 5. Type or copy-paste these three lines

\::
Send {Enter}/oos{Enter} return Step 6. Save and close. Step 7. Right click on your file and select run script Step 8. Play PoE. If you desync press \. This will open the chat box, type /oos, and send it. You can replace \ with whatever key(s) you wish (you may need to browse the autohotkey documentation to figure out exactly what to type. For example, to set it as alt-n you would replace \ with !n), but remember that it will enter the exact same key strokes no matter what window you have open, so you don't want to bind it to something like a letter key. Step 9. When you're done playing remember to stop the script and/or close autohotkey. I hope this makes life better for some of you. (Note: While sending single command like /oos with a script is fine in basically any game, creating a hotkey to enter a series of commands can be considered "automating gameplay" and is usually against the ToS. Keep this in mind if you decide to make your own macros. If you're unsure if a particular macro is okay to run, ask support or assume it's not.) Last edited by frzn#2527 on Nov 19, 2013, 4:58:27 AM

Or they can fix their godamn game. I refuse to use some script just to deal with desync. What a complete joke.
Doesn't matter anyway, /oos gets dominated by alt+f4/esc pros (HC) |

" ROFL... I don't even think that's fast enough to combat this game's desync... More like bind it to... ![]() |

" Can they? | |
I still find it amazing that they haven't implemented an in-game bind for /oos.
Desync is arguably the one biggest thorn in GGGs side, and their official advice is still to go and dl a 3rd party software to macro the command. Amazing, absolutely bloody amazing. Casually casual.

" I guess that has something to do with 10 second cooldown of oos, newcomers could be confused why it doesn't work everytime they hit officially set oos key. No longer a forum dweller, please use PM for contact purposes. Last edited by ignarsoll#5178 on Nov 19, 2013, 8:33:50 AM

" I remember when they took it out of the game when everyone found out about it and were spamming it to combat the omnipresent and rampant desync.... Then after a huge outcry they put it back in... With a cooldown. Maybe they could gather some data from that fiasco... 1. Plethora of people using /oos command because of desync. 2. When /oos was removed a plethora of people got mad about desync. 3. When /oos was put back in, a plethora of people used it to combat desync, so much so they make macros for it. Hmm... What logical assumption could we infer from this GGG??? I mean seriously... This happened years ago. Did they honestly think putting /oos back in the game would shut everyone up for good? Did they think they appeased their "whiny playerbase" with such a gracious gesture? Obviously they thought it was enough... Since we're still here years later... Dealing with the same issue.
