Yes, him hitting you gives you two blood stacks.

Bottom line: Dominus is pure cheese in the shamelessly Diablo III tradition. You either know the tricks and have the gear to withstand his abuse, or you chip off a bit more of his health bar each time and zerg back for another round.
(SC: Resurrect; HC: Alt-F4).

BTW thank you about that , I facetank residence Dom with it. One of the most useful uniques in game tbh.

But Dom's touch of god is an attack, not a spell.

I find it hilarious that it's like the one time melee chars have a massive advantage since you're virtually always standing right next to him to hit so when the rain starts you don't die horribly.

I only had to portal out once on Nemesis vs. Dominus, because I accidently stepped outside the shield.

It does do a LOT of damage.

As to unknown mechanic, well, usually if you see a bigass shield and a fullscreen effect...

Whenever he casts blood rain stuff there are multiple safe areas to stand in... usually only one that the boss is near though.

He uses a version of cleave that adds 2 stacks of corrupted blood per hit, none of his other attacks/moves (aside from the rain) add corrupted blood.

Actually I was in a party with all melee and Dominus was a huge problem in that case too. See, it's very dangerous if no one has the wherewithal to kill off the constantly spawning minions. Because sure, you can handle Dominus's hits as you huddle under the shield, but not combined with 10 titty-bitches spewing projectiles at you while you try to huddle there.

But I started in Domination, so I knew about this before going to Hardcore. I'd love to find out how many RIPs the Nemesis-starting rushers did on Dominus before everyone figured it out. Or did most of them have advance information?

I could see not realizing it was a bleed and you needed staunching, but the minute I saw that bubble go up, I knew I was supposed to be inside it. It's like video game mechanics 101.

To be fair I was scion with 3.2% regen in normal so I was able to survive a bleed that would have killed a lot of classes.
