Why are Frenzy charges so weak?

My point is, Frenzy charges alone is not sufficient, it needs to be part of an equation to be effective. You need to stack up more attack speed from tree, gears, and gems, added physical damage affix/mods from gears, and increased physical damage from tree, gears, and gems. This is how you call it synergy. Power charges works the same way. Only Endurance charges can be slapped to anything, and you can call it a day. It actually got nerfed because it was OP in a sense that helped out a lot of non-armor builds.







I am using them, but I am not how many people are using it, only GGG knows. Getting 24k DPS with 6 frenzy charges and without hatred. With Hatred, about 33k DPS. Also, because of blood dance, with lioneyes remorse, I can get up to 600+ life regen when I have 6 frenzy charges up ( 1% life regenerated from life from each charges) and 5 endurance charges up (0.2% life regenerated from life from each charges).


Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

I'm interested how much damage you'd do if you used the same setup bu with infernal blow.
And you shouldn't need items to get more use out of a charge node than another one.
Frenzy skill can be good as well as any skill in the game but other skills will be better. (not to mention frenzy being the most mana inefficient)

Not really a fan of Infernal Blow since it is a lot harder to mitigate elemental reflect. Sure there is other skills that can do better, but this builds fits perfectly with frenzy. Using any other skills would defeat the purpose of this build. :)

More like you can't really use other skills with facebraker build (cause balance :D, either face ele reflect or mana issues/forced blood magic). Double strike would be fucking boss with facebreakers.

Edit: Forgot to mention, if I switch out melee splash with added fire damage, and lioneyes remorse with broadstroke quiver, I can easily pass 50k DPS. I switch blood dance with darkray vectors, I can easily get close to 100k dps. All of this at the cost of losing defense, not worth it. I am at a sweet spot for offense. I can easily kill still with 20k+ DPS.

Which brings us to the point - people don't use frenzy unless forced by build decision. My death's oath blood dance duelist was using frenzy with blood magic before i decided to test level 1 double strike. I realised I do more damage, can sustain it on mana and that frenzy sucks. Then I realised I don't need the regen from blood dance to sustain myself in positive regen territory and dropped them for 3 res boots and put on a lioneye's remorse in place of a res shield. Then I realised frenzy charges suck and respecced out of them (alas bandit charge stayed).

Removing each part o f my build that relied on frenzy felt like getting a vital upgrade in gear. I think I realized something. Frenzy charges are a noobtrap.

And that is the story why I made this thread.

Maybe because you were too focused on one stats, that the rest fell behind. Again, you can fail at any build, if you do not theorycraft enough, do not know the mechanics behind the build you want (think this falls into theorycrafting), and the synergy is not there.


Crit build is also a noobtrap to those that face reflect. You need to think it through, if you want your crit build to be successful.



Of course, the build I have is very nique, so there is not a lot of options, and only frenzy benefits from it.

I built my char based entirely on Frenzy :)
since it is smaller hits reflect become less a problem (except thorn), but my biggest problem with Frenzy skill is MANA.
I currently abandoning my Friendzy because I am lazy. Now trying another play-by-mouse-only build :)
