5-link chance

Such a stupid and unrewarding system.

What this thread is full of is confirmation bias. You don't see the posts from the people with average results... they don't have anything "interesting" to add. You only see people who post the extremes, and in this case the extremely unlucky.

I 6 socketed and 5 linked my quill rain with under 50 of each. Was hoping for a 6L but it seemed foolish to keep going and it was my last fusing anyways...

Well, I used 263 fusings to get a 5 link on a 6 socket item. I didn't got the 5 link and now I'm sh*tlessly angry and mad because I'm broke now and GG !

The variance is pretty high i assume. From my 4 5 Links i crafted in Domination so far i needed

- 54 fusings
- 1 fusing
- ~ 280 fusing
- 7 fusings

it is a bad system , everyone but those who have gotten lucky and ggg still stand by it.

but if ever there was a good reason to hate path of exile and leave for different games , the linking system is by FAR the best one. beating out even desynch for all but hardcore players

nothing sucks the fun out of playing path of exile quite like watching as 2 weeks of honest farming is thrown down the shitter before ones eyes.

or if you are trying to 6l , watching 3 months of honest farming being thrown down the shitter.

I agree in the sense that it'd be nice after playing this game for hundreds of hours with numerous characters that I'd be able to craft at (or find) at least one 5l.. Yet after trying numerous times along the way to craft one or farm for one. I ha e yet to have one in my possession.

Not that I'm desperate to have one mind you, it would just be nice after all the time I've put into the game where you can have another player who's played for a week, use a couple fuses and bang..gets a 5l. Just seems unfair :/

Why would I do it with such a chest? Well... I felt lucky that evening. Ha!

It used to be roughly 140-200 average (kind of a big gap there but it's an accurate range). It was buffed though, where you have approximately a 25% greater likelihood of getting a 5L now. Not sure if you can simply take off 25% of those numbers, but I would guess that's somewhat of the case. Took me 180 in HC before release.

Why? Thats not a bad hybrid at all. Maybe not top tier BiS ofc, but it's still very nice for a an EB build or something along those lines. I think it's worth a 5L, although personally if I was to 5l again I'd spend at least 2 ex on the base chest.
