Weapon types balance

When we rip the balance to pieces for 0.9.3, dual wielding will rise from the ashes as a viable play-style. I hear your complaints, and class it is a very high priority balance fix.

That part is still true, and an advantage to the dual wielder.
Seems like there's a general feeling that dual wielding isn't up to snuff, but I think this thread has sparked some interesting discussion.

It would be interesting to try a gear/gem duelist build that stacks much flat elemental damage as possible. However it seems that the flat dmg elemental damage support gems do relatively little damage at high difficulties (and 2 of the 3 cannot be lvled up by duelists/marauders) and I *think* you can only get elemental dmg on jewelry (and from what I've seen, only in rather low amounts).

On top of which 2h has doublestrike (a multiplicative 100% IAS) to proc tons of flat elemental dmg as well :D

I like the idea, but I suspect this is better done with the dex/int class - using daggers, or maybe claws. Gives you the faster attack speed of those small weapons, int's bonuses to crit (more attacks means more crits, and crits take advantage of the elemental damage).
However, since that class isn't released yet, it's not an option for now.
