How did YOU die in hardcore?

Ok, so I just died for my first time in hardcore in the most anti-climactic way ever. I had just killed the general and made my way into the imperial forest. I take 10 steps into this maze, get surrounded by some blue corpse eating bird-men and die 2 seconds later. My facepalm lasted 5 minutes. I was playing a multi-spectral throw scion level 35

What was the worst way you went out?

Desync took my last character. vaal hammer smashed when i wasnt even near him.

Level 65 farming Fellshrine. My baby was just born and it was our first day back home from the hospital.

Baby cried.
I unknowingly went afk still in the zone.
I came back.
My jaw dropped.



On second note, it was my baby's first PK and she wasn't even a day old. So proud of her!

didn't die yet in 1.0, but truth be told I didn't play too much of Hardcore yet.

Lost 56 melee to desync. In very common way - was about to be surrounded, leaped out, but actaully didn't and came back in few seconds to die.

Lvl 70 summoner alive and prosper.

lvl 64 bow duelist alive and awaits propper gear.

Every single time without fail, it's because I stepped into a situation I knew had a chance of going out of my control. The most recent one? Knowingly stacked to 20 on corrupting blood, figuring I was leeching it back anyway (the white mobs died too quickly, if you're wondering, and that's how that character landed in SC.)

Farming merci ledge i had just finished a run entering upper submerged to reset when my GF comes out of the shower wearing nothing but a towel. It of course got my attention as she walked over and gave me a short kiss with the entire moment lasting 12-15 seconds. I turn back to the game to see in the meantime an exile had already raped my character as i stared at a resurrect button.


My Second death in nemesis was actually very irritating. Fighting a volatile golem rare in merciless the golem was around 10-15% hp and was smacking away at one of my dual EK totems while i chilled on the other side of the screen at 100% hp/ES. The entire fight was like this, but when he reached that 10-15% mark game froze for about 1-2 seconds then i dced. Logged back on to see that it was a big crash and my entire friends list had also dced and i was in standard. Only thing i could think of is in that 1-2 sec freeze the golem or i desynced into the other and my totems finished killing him causing his volatile mod to one shot me.

I think thats all. I generally delete my HC chars on death, as the lessons learned I started avoiding playing:

melee
without max res
without taking every bit of life nods on tree
without life mod on every bit of gear
close to walls/doors/obstacles
without shift-attacking
without shitloads of life leech
without AA on hotkey

Probably as I add more to my deaths, my things to avoid will keep growing

never died. have 85 lvl mara and lvl 80 witch still but for some reason whenever i play hardcore i cant sleep and now im back to school soo... FML
