How will bot farming and 3rd party currency sales be combated?

This was how I spent my time in EVE-Online. Was so much fun harassing the miner bots, profitable too.

But then it was much easier to spot/harass them when EVERYone was in the same universe, as opposed to closed instances like we have here.

I know you are halfway joking but this is probably why botters won't be a problem. There will be leagues, ladders and races that will be the "main" focus of the competition in this game while default league will serve a casual/social function. I'm sure it will be going on in default but it will be much harder to pull off in the short term leagues/races.

Bots have never really bothered me but i do hope some measures are made.

There was a long thread about cheating and botting with devs responses.

I'm too lazy to get it for you guys though.

PoE isn't a game that attracts millions and millions of people... I don't think that too many people gonna make bots because there is no "real" financial interest behind it.

Of course I support anything that stops these people from destroying the currency of an awesome game!

With the PoE community right now I dont think botters have a chance, because I dont think many ppl would buy stuff to ruin the game. With ob, it will be different. Ive herd from someone that they have an effective method to stop them, but havent announced what that is.

actually very easy.. make those currency to be account bound..
