Point of resistance flasks?

I have a ton of white (and some magic) resistance flasks (sapphire, granite, amethyst, etc) in my stash and wondering if there's a point to keeping them, other than maybe for a build later on? I never use them as I don't know enough about the game / am not skilled enough to quickly pop them in combat, and prefer to just regen my health with a life/hybrid flask instead.

Do they sell for anything, or are they in any hidden recipes not listed on the wiki? I feel like I'm wasting space with them.
It's always good to bring a Lightning Resist Flask to Merciless Dominus... besides that I've never used one and they're pretty much worthless as well.
They are mostly for special builds, Mostly used to deal with heavy reflect damage (Infernal blow, Discharge) Or things like Righteous Fire builds. You can also use them on certain maps and versus bosses if you want to be extra careful (Domiunus 1st phase comes to mind the most)
I just remembered that you get them as a reward for A Swig of Hope Act 3 Normal, so I guess whites aren't that hard to come back.

But yeah, what you guys said makes sense. Guess I won't keep all of them haha, just one of each type. I also see "surgeon's" selling frequently so that's something I'll keep in mind.

Had no idea about Dominus though... wish I knew earlier as I always struggle with him. Thanks guys!
You use them in maps to counter certain bosses.
Their effects are indeed fairly pointless. A player is not going to charge in without capped resistances (sometimes even over cap), so the +50% of a given resistance is all but wasted with the exception of a few incredibly fringe cases (You'd normally be capped, but you decided to run into a map that has elemental equilibrium and a resistance curse). Otherwise, at most 40% of it is going to be doing nothing.

I'd say they were for early game where resistances could be an issue, but they don't drop early game and have some level requirements. I'd say they were for specific builds, but the only one that consistently needs one of the resistance flasks would be Righteous Fire builds, and chances are you'll be wasting the +50% resistance since you'll want to be capped on fire before using the ruby flask.
They are useful against a select few mobs and bosses, for instance it's a very smart idea to take a ruby (fire resist) flask with you to The Docks because even capped fire resist may not save you from a magic LMP dog pack.

Wich map bosses do you refer to? I've never felt the need to carry a resistance flask in maps

Crematorium 76 Map comes to mind, that fire dmg hurts.
The reason I bring flasks is because of stuff like this

These things are extremely useful in the right situation. I would've enjoyed it more if it had the surgeon's mod where it refills when I do a crit however but it still has it's uses.

Unlike healing or mana flasks, their flask effects last the whole duration whereas healing/mana flasks are only in effect while they are actually healing you. With the refill on crit mod.... crit heavy build can maintain these effects for quite a while and doesn't have to worry about them shutting off mid duration because they are at full life. So not really so much for instant use effects like dispelling burning but great for longer term stuff like immunity to curses where a curse heavy fight can be shorter then the duration of a single use and by the time its done a crit build can have it refilled.

But that is the same as with the other flasks like granite or quicksilver....
