Staff Master - an attempt.

Hey, thanks for the tips. I've actually rethought the build and my conclusion was that I want to :

1) Have highest possible block with staves (that includes items such as Bringer of Rain, The Anvil and Rainbowstride) and decent/very good survivability.

2) With the first point in mind - I want to deal as much damage as possible.

So here's my new build :

Skills :

1) Main AoE - Ground Slam + Increased Melee Physical Damage and Endurance Charge on Stun;

2) Main Single target - Heavy Strike;

3) Mobility - Leap Strike;

4) Molten Shell

5) Warlord's Mark

Well, thanks to DutchRidders' tips, I've learned much more about making builds...this the latest version that I came up with, I think it looks pretty good. Though it'd be great if an expert took a look.

I probably should reduce the amount of points spent, as I suppose I won't be getting this many. Here it is :

1. Bringer of Rain - mainly for the 15% block increase.

2. The Anvil
- 10% block increase and some on-block effects.

3. Rainbowstride - to circumvent Anvil's movement speed penalty and to get 25% chance to block spells.


Skills :

1. Main Single Target : Heavy Strike + Increased Physical Damage
2. Main AoE - Ground Slam + Increased Physical Damage + Endurance Charge on Stun
3. Auxiliary AoE - Staff Sweep (it's pretty bad, but useful when surrounded.
4. Mobility - Leap Slam.
5. Survivability - Molten Shell.
6. Warlord's Mark (not sure about that one).

Bandit rewards :

1. Normal - Oak for 40 HP - this build has 202% increased life, so it'll be quite beneficial.
2. Cruel - Oak again, for 18% increased physical damage. Obvious choice.
3. Merciless - Oak (surprise!) - one more endurance charge looks like a good deal to me.

Hi just re-posting from my original thread discussing the same topic.

I've been playing the game for about three weeks now and I must say it's amazing. I have leveled a Marauder using ZiggyD's build to 73, unfortunately it was on standard. I then found out Domination is where most of the population is and re-rolled a LA Shadow to 70 and a Incinerate Marauder to 72.

Now I want to do my own build and I'm thinking of using Ground Slam and Heavy Strike with a staff. I loved having the block on the incinerator but using a two hand is so much more enjoyable. So I guess I'm trying to combine both of those builds which may or may not work.

I'd LOVE for some knowledgeable advice on where I might run into problems also if there are more optimal routes since the build itself is about 102 points. I know you want to hang around 90 and then branch out into more things. Thank you for taking the time to read over it, I greatly appreciate it.

Unfortunately I am not comfortable yet rolling a character on Nemesis. But I would like this build to be viable on both servers. I think when I get more play time in I will roll something like this on Nemesis depending on if it's viable.

Saprezzan mentioned in my previous thread that I was some where in the middle between elemental and physical damage. I'd prefer to be more towards the physical side of things as far as damage is concerned. But I don't see a way to get to certain nodes for the staff without picking up some elemental damage.

Hey, just check the previous post - it's has a fairly detailed physical build.
Your build is very nice I think I may try it. My ONLY issue is it really lacks all resist and health regen.
