Help! Unique Weapon Set Ideas and help requested to make it happen (Evil Shit Inside)

I need your help! So i have a idea that id like to share with you all, and see if you guys can help me add to the idea.


Ok, so here it goes!

i want to make 3 unique weapons all on the same theme. These 3 weapons will be infused with soul fragments from a evil dude.

To make this idea come to life i need your help and your take on the idea.

So, Lore. The idea is to have this 1 all dark, evil and powerful guy from the history of Wraeclast, infuse 3 weapons with chunks of his own soul (Harry potter fan much). Going for a necromancer.

The reason he infused the weapons is because he was old and dyeing and he still wished to one day seek revenge on "something" or "someone" or to continue his passion for blood and destruction. So he put a part of his soul in to 3 weapons! A dagger, a axe and a bow. The act of this dark magic killed the evil guy, but not before he placed each weapon in a dark and evil location so that one day another dark soul would find it and be controlled by it.

(I know there is allot of great writers on here so if anyone can write a story id be very grateful. And if the story is great and ya not in beta ill be happy to key you in for your assistance.)

so each of these weapons has a dark face on a section of the weapon and that dark face is kinda like the avatar/soul/personality of the weapon. It would be visible in the weapon picture.

So the face/weapon will talk to the exile and try to corrupt the exile in to further darkness.

However, the burden does not come without reward. The weapons them self are capable of great carnage and destruction.



I have written up a rough idea below


Weapons Of Darkness

Bow Of the Dark One (Spine Bow)

Dagger of the Dark One (Platinum Kris)

Axe of the Dark One (Vaal Hatchet)

Weapon collection states:

Puncture
Lvl70 (lvl 80 if possible)
increase attack speed % to meet 2 attacks per sec
talking weapons (Personality)
150% Extra dmg
15-25% life leech

Possible down sides:
-50% to -75% life regen
-50% to -75% es regen
Chance to puncture player on hit 5-10%
Bound (Cannot stash or trade)

Now the feature that will stand out the most will be the fact that the weapon talks! GGG have already recorded some voice acting for the axe. i may request the same voice be added to each to save cost. You can listen to the voice acting here: http://youtu.be/mjHfjJJZ2Ww


So thats my idea. Please help me with any lore you can think of and any ideas to add to make this work. Please poke holes and fill them.

One could argue that carnage and destruction are actually symptoms of 'darkness of the soul'.


All in all, I quite like the idea (though the 'weapon controls user' does remind me of Arthas. Though I think it's a theme that even surfaces in sagas and the like).


I don't have time for an in-depth posting now, but a few things that came to my mind:

- Why not have the personality of the weapons' progenitor be split? Say, his guile went into the dagger. His brutality into the axe. Just gotta think of something for the bow. I'm partial to have at least one of them quite insane, though.

- Don't explain everything. One of the best bits in many a fiction is that you allow audiences to spin their own take on things. Show them enough so they can create a picture, but keep the full picture from them. May be useful for your captions.

- Maybe he did not only fuse his soul into the weapon, maybe the weapons themselves are part of him, but altered through sinister thaumaturgy? Like the bow could be made of some of his bones and hair. The dagger is made out of his nails(cf Naglfar, this is a thing) and bone meal. And the axe may be made out of other bones - maybe the blade is made from his teeth? Just imagine how the thaumaturge forged those items into actual weapons - his pain and determination working with his own body. Of course he died making those weapons.


Okay, I gotta run now. If you like my suggestion, I'd be happy to flesh out (heh) a few things today evening (so in six to eight hours).

edit: okay, real quick: I would love for the items' names to reflect their origin.

Some Flavor text ideas:

"Into his bow he put his hatred
for all creatures of the air,
so that they may be shot down."

"Into his axe he put his loathing
for all life of the earth,
so that they may be hewn."

"Into his dagger he put his contempt
for man and their societies,
so that a blade in the dark may find them"
