1.0 Nerfs = Less Players

The seemingly increased popularity of PoE can be contributed to the fact that PoE is officially released and is furthermore on steam. Numbers will slowly dwindle as time goes on. If not because of the current state of the game, the community will drive away players. Just yesterday I had someone tell me to leave and never come back because I verbalized my opinion on some of the more frustrating things players have to deal with. Ironically a less than friendly community was one of my main points. Needless to say, the player proved my anecdotal experiences to have some weight to them.

The game has more players playing it now than it's ever had. Confirmed by Chris on the news update. QQing over nerfs or adapt, I chose the latter. Tell your friends they should l2p

My friends list exploded with activity. I don't even remember some of these people.

i was bit upset about auras i lose for that i had to invest in res passives & some other stuff
but it`s ok for me

but there are people who cant play there game due to new changes i mean game is for fun you enjoy being MF sporker & when you cant you just quit

my friend was collecting all items for month now for ele hit duel totem build

he was waiting till patch so he can get passive reset & after patch there is no way he can go for that build bcoz no more auras & i think ele hit also got nerfed

i lose 1 good gaming partner

i know some GGG butt kissers will say they don't care who pl;ay who quit it`s free game & blaa bla blaa

but ask people who got there whole build destroyed which they build by spending there days months

I went on my main from 30.8k dps to 13.7k dps, there is nothing to do about it. You just have to adept to the new things. You should know it by now that they would make dramastic changes, either good or bad for you.

Be happy that they didn't make a full wipe on the release version of the game.

Oh and btw, your friends list =/= player base. I had on the other hand 21+ people online on my friends list, not to mention that I got to trade chat 90 on Domination (mayby they changed max number of each channel? who knows).

I don't like all the changes they made to the game or things that are yet unchanged, it's natural not to enjoy every little detail of the game. But what I don't get is that you make a forum post that you don't like nerfs and that your friends don't play this game, what point are you trying to make?

And no, they did not nerf everything. If you took better to the skill tree you can see that they made HUGE changes that provides so much more stats. Not even to mention with the life buff changes, I got up to 7000 health, without a kaom's heart. Unless you were ofcourse on the bandwagon and ride the OP FOTM build which you can expect to be nerfed.


TL;DR: 1.0 nerfs =/= less players. Actually, the player base is higher then ever. Not to mention how smooth the servers were (unlike OB launch). Your friends list is not the player base and your build being nerfed is not a result of less players in the game.

There are a ton of new players because of steam. Whether or not they stick around remains to be seen. They didn't play Closed Beta, so they wont have this affecting them. I still think lack of drops will drive tons away.

well. There is for sure much more people playing.

but that can very well change in a week or month period.

ALOT of the players online, are old players who already quit and came back to check the new changes. (most of these players will go away after they check out most the new changes, play a little and stuff)

And we have many new players due to NEW RELEASED GAME /Steam. (many will quit and many will stay. No way to tell here)


so yea.. its obvious we get a bigger player base on official launch.

but the playerbase can die off fairly quickly.
