I recently installed windows via bootcamp. It default starts in Windows and I can't figure out why. All you have to do is hold the option key during boot up and choose which OS to start up in. A bit of a pain, but you didn't need to reformat.

Yeah I did that man, but after doing it about 10 times it gave me x of death over my main drive so I was forded to reinstall

I know everyone hates Macs and think they are a waste of money and elitist, but I work in film and video and that is the best system for my line of work. Plus it just works without all the tweaking PC users have to do. Plus I'm stubborn Tbh. I like my Mac and that's that..not real happy with them in the last few years but I'm old and stuck in my ways.

The only reason to buy a mac is to make you liberal art major friends think you have good taste.

They use really terrible overpriced proprietary parts (you have to spend ~1-2k dollars to even see a model with an SSD for Christ sakes). Video editing programs are one of the things that take advantage of 8gb+ RAM and multi 6+ core CPU's, again something you wont see unless you shell out a ridiculous amount of cash on macs.

Oh and you cant play any game on a mac.

I for one, share his opinion
Don't forget to drink your milk 👌
I'll bite my tongue about the mac thing and try and offer a bit of advice. don't wait for a steam box. its just a PC with the steam OS installed instead of windows and you will be able to build your own machine for a hell of a lot cheaper than the most inexpensive version of the steam box. Its not hard at all either if you just take the time to do a little research and there's plenty of how to videos and forums to help you out with that stuff. The best thing about this is black friday and cyber Monday coming next month will bring tons of good deals to make it even cheaper!

That's sound advice, thanks. But the sad fact is that I can't afford much of anything for now so either way I am where i am. No POE. I have learned a lot about pc's while playing this game and do prefer many things about them, mainly the versatility and customization options. Still on the fence about what to do though, plus I don't want a big honkin' machine junkin up my home entertainment center, which is where I play.

In no way do I blame GGG for this!

I finally gave up on the Mac port and decided to take everyone's advice and install Windows 7 using Bootcamp. Everything seemed fine for a while but my computer suddenly stopped being able to revert back to Mac OS and would only reboot into Windows. I was forced to reset to factory settings and reinstall, luckily I backup a lot. I have spent the last 9 months struggling with this game on my Mac and it has finally taken its toll (on both me and my computer). Anyway, that's not important.

What is important is that I thank GGG for making such a great game that has been a joy to play, even with all the lags and desync. When I found this game I was looking for a game that was like Gauntlet and D&D and I found it. I'm am very sad to leave before release but I can't afford any more stress to my computer.

It's been a blast being part of my first gaming community and enjoying the best game I have ever played. Fanboy!

I'll most likely be back when the Steam Box comes out or I find another appealing alternative to Mac for gaming.

I wish all of you the best and I will see y'all soon enough,
Justin.

P.S.- Flamers and Trolls please do your best as it will make my Sabbatical easier.

Not trolling even tho you might think i am...but you messed by buying a mac

I can respect that.

See the post that Esterpest made, about holding down option key during bootup to select which OS.

In any case, I would highly advise against Steam Box, seems extremely limiting. You can get a pre-built computer that will run POE well for $300-400, heck even a laptop. We paid $350 for my wife's laptop, and it can run POE....but she mostly plays minecraft on it.

300-400 is a bit low, if you are going to take the time to do a self build you probably want to put together something that will run everything on ultra that is currently out and for ~1 year to come. Which you can easily do for 500-800. The steam box is cool and all, but its going to run linux... gabe is trying to make that OS better for gaming, but I's say its WAY too soon to jump on the linux bandwagon just yet.

Heres a really nice guide to building your own PC, its about 10 month old now, but all the information about parts is correct except the prices (you can prob figure ~100dollars cheaper than shown).

The cyber Monday suggestion sounds best, my cousin builds pcs all the time. I'll see if he can whip me something up. I'll be dealing with some serious withdrawal symptoms by then, hopefully no babies crawling on the ceilings.
