Inventory slots as a Micro Transaction!
" We're definitely on the same page here. Your idea would also alleviate the problem I mentioned. I would prefer to simply add a row to the bottom for everyone, if the UI can accommodate it, as fewer trips to town makes the game more fun. The value of a tp scroll is negligible, so currency balancing is practically a non-issue. On the other hand, if the GGG folks are sticklers for making people use x tp scrolls per hour (or, more likely, for forcing people to be as selective as possible in what they pick up), or if there simply isn't room for my suggestion in the UI, then your idea is superior. The ideal solution, which is too late at this point to implement in PoE, is not to copy Diablo's flawed inventory paradigm at all. In light of the fact that loot has a tendency to be vertically oriented (armor, weapons, shields, etc.), and that this loot cannot be turned sideways, why create a horizontally oriented inventory space at all? The inventory space should be eight blocks wide, and occupy the entire right-hand side of the screen. From a design point of view, this is the solution that makes the most sense. So why don't we ever see this in ARPGs? Simple: Diablo 1 didn't do it, so Diablo clones didn't do it, so the Diablo sequels didn't do it, and so people are not used to that paradigm. I imagine it therefore didn't even occur to the GGG developers as a design possibility. Wash your hands, Exile!

How is this idea P2Win you ask? EASY. If i had double the inventory space i can pick up twice as much as the guy next to me. I can then start picking up blues and vendoring them like crazy.
Another example would be - The unique map - Vaults - I can pick up 2x as many rare/uniques, sell them off and go back a total of 6 times or in my case, 12 times over to collect that lewt. Finally in a 6 man group, i can collect a shit load more loot before returning to town, not missing out on the loot that is being dropped as you take 2x as long to sell it off ad i do. Pay TO Win. |

" No, that is not what I asked. Read again. I asked how additional stash tabs are NOT pay2win. Wash your hands, Exile!

" Well, the official answer is "it's only "pay for convenience" because you can make as many free accounts as you want". Using that logic it isn't P2W. Of course you have to decide for yourself if the additional organization and time you need to manage multiple accounts is a handicap for players who choose not to purchase additional stash tabs. Personally, I think it violates the "not a P2W game" policy, however, you have to keep in mind that GGG needs to earn money and I would be surprised if stash tabs weren't one of their big sellers. I guess you have to accept it as a necessary evil. Rusery is right, though, additional inventory slots would be even worse than stash tabs. |

I think the portal gem gives an advantage similar to this regard.
Think about it, we can ID extra stuff because we don't have to use our scrolls for getting back to town, therefore we can obtain currency at a faster rate. That said you can relog and you're back in town. MCAussie MCServer. MCWin.

" In such case , increase the inventory space maybe ? R.I.P 4.B.

Maybe have the Inventory increases as a reward for defeating Dominous at the end of act 3, that id like.

" That's always been my position as well, and why I don't mind buying them. I'd prefer the game made some money, and continued to exist. Wash your hands, Exile!

" Additional stash is not P2W because there is a free workaround - mule accounts. there is no free workaround for additional inventory. multiboxing (or followbots) does not achieve this in a meaningful way. B. The Preceding message contains discretion.

To be fair.
It IS pay 2 win, technically. BUUUT Its only a small benefit over the f2p option of mule accounts. When compared to inventory slost which would significantly speed up the benefits of farming compared with the f2p option, that is the asy way to see why |
