Creative Use of Slower Projectiles/Reduced Duration

I think slower projectiles is for the upcoming gems in the future as an example if they put in piety's lightning ball that would be awesome with slower projectile :).Lets wait and hope hehe
slower projectiles is good for anything that pierces and doesnt lose dmg over "times"(like FP)
so its should work fine with ice spear (not to change the 2nd form range but make it pierce more enemys) or ST that will still travel the same distance till i comes bak to you
Slower Projectiles Possibilities:

Ice Spear

Lightning Trap

Spork

Spectral Throw - Chris says in the video can hit the same enemy multiple times
its the reason the build uses projectile weakness -knockback for more hits

Though in all 4 (esp 1 & 2) it seems another dmg gem would be more effective

Reduced Duration Possibilities:

Explosive Arrow

Lightning Warp

Rain of Arrows

Sunblast Trap Build

My question, will reduced duration increase burn dps ?
(only way it makes it to the 6th spot on my EA build)

Increased duration makes the trap and burning ground last longer on firetrap, so it makes sense that reduced duration shortens both. Which is actually ver bad for firetrap. Unless they make this gems interaction with dots deal the total damage quicker it won't be good for things like viper strike.

But even then firetrap burning ground isn't limited to dealing a maximum damage, it can do as much damage as it can until it goes away, so that won't be a good choice.

Btw what happens with reduced duration + viper/puncture/poison arrow? Does the damage stays the same but the duration will get shorter so you effectivly increase the dps of those skills?

Can´t think of any use of slower projectiles yet though. =(


The spectral throw use? Getting the projectiles to stay on target longer.
Any shock capable projectile, grouping them together for easier 3 stack?!
Perhaps it can intensify incinerate? Stacking the projectiles more?

I'm not sure why so many people suggest reduced duration with traps, on my trapper as long as I toss them on the enemy they are instant exploding already. Never felt the need to have them explode quicker.

But I like the incinerate suggestion.
It's going to depend on how slow, the slowed projectiles are.

Given how faster projectiles makes EK's cone of attack tighter and go further, slower projectiles might give it more of a shotgun effect.
