The closest we have to that is the ultra-economical Elemental Hit, which used to be a common level 1 gem but is now inexplicably a rare drop-only level 19 gem.

I don't understand why you call Elemental hit an Ultra-economical skill. Was it sarcasm ?

Among the skills that can be used at melee range, its the most mana intensive (24 mana at level 20). Cyclone cost more mana (36 mana at level 20) but its a completely different mechanic so its hard to compare it with other skills.

Shadow : Covenant Pulser (504561)
Ranger : 12 charges Frenzy Archer (65154), Dual Claws Elemental ST (709126)
Witch : Self-Cast Arc Tanky Witch (770185), AoF EK/Bear trap (863970)
Templar : Frenzy + AB/Fireball "Cast on Crit" Wander (611200)
Marauder : Death Oath Staff User (498864)

Read my other posts in the thread. :)

Oops. You are right. I never realized that elemental hit was both the most expensive melee skill (24 mana at lvl 20) and the cheapest (4 mana at lvl 1).

Here are the problems with Elemental Hit on a melee skill build.

Multistrike scales the damage down by 38%, and then only scales up the physical damage.

Melee Splash also ONLY scales up physical damage.

Elemental Hit, based on what it does, could be easily replaced by ANY other melee skill and preform better in melee situations.
