Steam region lock (got answer)

I discourage players to use steam.

Several countries have ratings.
Games get censored for lower ratings or they get no rating at all.

If the game is unrated it will be considered as Adult Only Game by several countries.
Extreme examples are UK and Germany.


You can bypass the region filters by gifting for example but then you may get your steam account banned.
Steam consideres unrated game in several countries as forbidden and you receive answers like:
You broke local law so we banned your account.

Won't happen in poe's case. Bioshock, manhunt etc. These games have been censored, it's mainly violent enough actions. And as you said only applied to UK, Germany,

I really hoping it will come to all regions on release. But now: "This item is currently unavailable in your region" ( Russian region )
Also i hoping there will be some "Steam packs": like "Infernal styles bundle","Gore styles bundle", so it will not have microtransaction points but have good sets of effects/pets.

You can't bypass it. They changed it so that the restriction isn't on the purchase, but the game itself. You can even accept the gift, but not add it to your library if its restricted in your country.

I guess you're wrong because I had no problems with any game which is region restricted that I redeemed via retail keys. (maybe gifting works differently I don't know)

3 days left and we don't get any response.

I used to hate steam, but then I needed to use it for Skyrim and Civ V. Shortly after that I ended up with over 200 games on steam through their sales.

Its one of those things that you hate until you've tried it, then you realize its the best thing since sliced bread.

I had to play the game when it transitioned from CB to OB and was awash in n00b questions. Know what I did? I answered them as best I could, because I am a human being.

I had several responses macro'd because they were being asked so often.

Had this same problem a couple months ago, when i got the urge to play civ 5. My acount was blocked, didnt remember my password nor username, and didnt know which of my 3 email acounts i had used.

So i read how to recover the acount in steams website. All you have to do is prove you own a game, and (not even sure its required) email - in this case all my 3 emails - or acount name.

Its really easy to prove you own a game if you have a physical media, if i recall you just hand write your thicket number thingy next to your box cd key and take a photo of it, then send them the .jpg file. Steams support is excelent in my opinion.

Bout OP, maybe the game unlocks for all regions on release? Wheres it youre playing from? South America seems unlocked.

It's looks like this issue is about prices. In Russian steam many things are cheaper. And it always causes delays like this.
