What exactly is your problem though?
If you are playing it right now then what does steam give you, you can still launch the game through steam right now, and you still will get access to the steam overlay. Even if for whatever reason the official steam page is region locked for you, that doesnt stop you from playing POE at all. Its not like POE is going to turn into a steam exclusive game. |

It's ok until you get account problems. Then it's a nightmare.
My account got screwed up because I hadn't used my games for a while. You know, the ones I had PAID for. It's still f@@cked up. I can't be bothered anymore. So as long as it's not exclusive to steam I'll stay. If I have to use it. I'm gone. No choice. |

" Hmm... As for me steam support is the most reliable gaming related support with 5 mil + user base. It's not the fastest but all problems I got are always solved at the end. Your situation is really weird, you forgot your email and your passsword at the same time and didn't login for 2 years? |

You are aware that the fact whether you guys use steam or not is insignificant? The point is many people use steam and still have not played poe. A free to play steam game is one of the best promotions available. Much much better than an mmo with it's web page that allows you to download for free. Steam has it's renown, soon will have steam box and it's the best possible way to make a game popular without sacrificing standards.
