Boosting in default begins

Ummm ok so how does this work

if like a level 50 guy and a level 1 guy roll out together then like... does that somehow mean the level 50 guy gets MORE experience.

By the nature of level difference the very most he should get is normal xp, if not less for being grouped with someone such far level away from him.

I don't see why this is so hard.

Am I still not getting it?

Partying makes enemies proportionally harder to the number of players grouped. Harder enemies give better loot/experience. There is a scaled experience sharing system. If two players are the same level they even split the total xp. But as the disparity grows, the amount of total xp goes more to the higher level player. Thus a lvl 1 and a lvl 60 creates harder monsters which give almost all the exp to the lvl 60, which is more than if he was soloing. Effectively 'boosting' the rate at which he can level/get good drops.
Ooohhhh

that makes so much sense

so it's like in D2 where you would join a game with 7 players and go off on your own and get mad xp

you know what, now that I think about it, I really liked that and if they just fixed groups so that it always scaled based on your group size (not who is specifically with you) so you could do the group/solo thing and rake it in, that would essentially obsolete this whole argument.
It's also possible to boost in this fashion without a lowbie. I prefer to get a group of 4-5 and have everyone split up so that we never share the exp, but still benefit from the +50% bonus. This tends to work best in fellshrine.
Could always say to hell with it, not everyone can run multiple accounts at this stage. Profit from their need for speed, so to speak.

Make a LV 1 character and begin to charge for reverse power leveling. Essentially that is all it is anyway.

I have always wondered why the exp gain goes to the high level. Ass backwards from the traditional in most games, not limiting to aRPG's, anyway.

Sssshhh don't let Metronomy hear you say that. He might just implode.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

Also a sure way to alienate the majority of your player base.

since the best way to fix this is to make it known and talked about, and in the interest of fairness during the race, it would be nice if somebody could level the playing field either in this post or in a PM.

speaking as somebody trying to enjoy my first race, playing as hard as i can, i was extremely frustrated to see myself barely holding rank 30 after playing almost straight since the start. now i come here to see its because everybody else is cheating, or at least many are.
it feels very unfair.

I'm not cheating and I've been inside the top 10 the entire time.
Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th
Finished 18th in Torment/Bloodline 1mo Race - peaked at 9th
