Theres less people playing POE than Diablo TWO now on Xfire
|
Its ironic ...
When PoE launched the open beta and just a few days after...the DEVS themselfs reported a ~75k concurrent players playing PoE and also based their "magnificent" achievement with XFIRE stats. So .. if the game is "doing well" showing XFIRE stats is the way to go .. but if the game is doing really bad XFIRE stats doesnt count anymore ??? Sorry ... you cant have it both ways .. what was good to prove how PoE was doing in terms of playerbase is now also good to prove how bad it has been doing. PoE needs more of : ![]() Last edited by Itsthepolice#5602 on Sep 30, 2013, 11:29:35 AM

" That picture is disgusting. Why are you keep posting it, guyz? /sad Put on your red shoes and dance the blues.

" I don't remember the Devs using XFIRE for anything. Could you kindly link this? |

Oh, it's not really that disgusting, you do eat a wagonload of snot through you lifetime, no matter if having any sinus problems or not. True, this is pretty backward and highly manual way of doing it, most people realize very early it's vastly more practical to just wait for it to drip down your throat on its own.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

" Hello here is the link posted kindly : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/87905 Quoting : " The rest of the news is extremely positive and we're very proud of that! Path of Exile completely exceeded our expectations in terms of popularity and community reception. Even despite the peak-time server stability issues we're seeing amazing player concurrency, retention and engagement. We've have a daily active player count of around 287k players and a concurrent user record of 70k players online. The website currently receives about 650k views per day. Various metrics like Xfire list the game as one of the most popular online PC games being played at the moment. I just can't express with words how proud these results make us feel. Thank you so much. " Now .. you search for the other Dev XFIRE quotes ... XFIRE is the tool to mention when the game is doing well ... but when it is doing really bad it stops being useful? Convenient .... sorry you cant have both ways. Last edited by Itsthepolice#5602 on Sep 30, 2013, 12:23:39 PM

Thank you! That does look rather bad then :-(

Valid point. You can't tout the statistics from something when they're good and then disown it when they turn bad.
Of course, to be fair, GGG isn't doing this. Just the forum fanboys. New Year's Resolutions:

" I still attribute the decline more towards the maturity of Anarchy and Onslaught than to any sort of "game dying"... But I do respect the XFIRE metric. |

Xfire has 23,000,000 accounts which is nothing to sneeze at. Even discounting multiple accounts single user they still have a boatload of users. Xfire frequently hits 250K users online at a time.
D3 was number one for a VERY brief time (just after release) then LoL regained number one. Xfire runs tournaments for FPS, LoL, and others. As far as I know Xfire has never ran a tournament for PoE or D3. What does this all mean? Xfire by itself, not much. However using Xfire as another gauge (analytical tool) among many such aggregates for developers is an indicator of health of a game. Again Xfire numebrs by themselves mean nothing they are just one part of the total picture. The only ones who know player numbers are GGG and they haven't released any new numbers in a good while. I suspect they will release numbers AFTER the full release of the game. Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.
Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :( Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt. |
