Eternal Orbs drop rate needs to be changed.

The only thing I find fun in this game at the moment is trying to finish my character by crafting the best gear possible for my build within a 1-10% margin.
Back over a month ago Eternal Orbs sold for 35-40 Chaos in the Onslaught league. During this time it was very expensive to try to craft but it was doable. Now with Eternal Orbs priced at nearly 3 Exalts each every crafting attempt becomes a 4 Exalt expense. Considering the time it takes to farm 4 Exalt worth of currency (for me anyway) this is just not viable any longer. Thus my chest sits unfinished with semi-trash stats: If Eternal Orbs were slightly more common than Exalt drops and priced at around 20-30 Chaos the game would all of a sudden become far more interesting, giving me something fun to build my wealth towards. But with the amount of time required to invest in farming to even make one single crafting attempt (and most of them fails) per today it's just not going to happen except for the very, very rich. So basically this aspect of the game that I thought was interesting is now completely blocked for me. I thought Eternal Orbs were supposed to be used for saving 5L's when you attempt crafting your 6L? Nobody in their right mind is going to spend 3 exalts just to save a 5L. My interest in the game is rapidly disappearing as there's really nothing fun to do anymore. Increasing Eternal Orb drop rates significantly would certainly give me renewed purpose in the game. Some arguments why I think this would be a positive change: 1.) Saving 5L's in order to attempt crafting 6L would become economically viable. 2.) Saving very rare socket color combinations when you want to try something different would then become economically viable. 3.) Crafting your own spesific items for your own needs is fun, making this process economically viable increases player enjoyment. 4.) Unique builds with very special gear requirement will now be easier to do as you can craft the gear combination you require. Thus build diversity in the game grows. (Instead of everyone hunting the same uniques). Thanks for reading. |

Considering the amount of "near perfect" gear now crafted in the game, I would do the contrary, decrease the drop rate of eternal orbs... This is becoming ridiculous.

sry to burst your bubble but your chest has 6 mods.
agree on eternals tho. |

" Not bursting any bubbles, I have it Eternaled with Fire/Str/Life/Armor%. Just using it like it is until Eternal Orbs become available again. |
|
" I agree. |

" Yea, having a lot of people with good gear is a horrible idea. Best to keep 99% of the game scrounging for scraps and have the vast minority peddling all of the good equips. Reminds me of how a handful of people in America control the vast amount of the wealth, and we see how well that's worked out so far. If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG. |

" It is a horrible idea. Top notch gear should exist only for a very small pool of players who dedicate the most time and effort (ignoring RMT cheaters). If the game was made any easier GGG would lose a large majority of its hardcore player base |

" Definately.. Game would lose a lot of interest. And it's not about "good" gear, it's all about "perfect" gear. IGN TylordRampage Last edited by Malone#6946 on Sep 10, 2013, 8:54:59 AM

" You are wrong. In the current crafting state the majority of even the hardcore player base does not craft gear using Eternal Orbs anymore. Even with Eternal Orbs being priced at around 20-30 chaos crafting great gear is still a very difficult and expensive process. Some of you people seem to assume that all of a sudden everyone will be rolling around with perfect gear. Get some perspective. EDIT: Also, someone who doesn't even play hardcore, should not be talking about what the hardcore community wants. Get a grip. I don't consider my self a hardcore Path of Exile, I haven't played much in the last two weeks but still I'm ranked in the top 200 in the Onslaught Ladder. If you can't show you're far more hardcore than me, please don't talk about what "hardcore" players want. Last edited by AveiMil#0732 on Sep 10, 2013, 9:22:16 AM

" Aww, close! But you're very wrong. The game would attract a lot of new intrest. |
