My tank-facebreaker:

Level 82.

Gear & gems:

Can't be killed. Deaths = 0.

I just enter rooms, wade through mobs and turn them all into hamburger meat. Facetank all bosses, including map piety, dual brutus/blacksmiths, doesn't matter. If it exists I facetank & pwn it.

Immortal call lasts about 12 secs with 7 endurance charges, which easily makes up for me not having grace or iron reflexes. Even without immortal call if I got a granite up + 7 end charges, I'm not taking much physical damage at all. And I got some evades, about 25% @ 82, and that gives me a chance to avoid chaos damage. Most chaos damage can't beat my HP regen, so I don't even care about getting hit by chaos. Also most chaos is split physical damage, which means it checks vs my very high shield block %.

80% resist all with no endurance charges up, 85% resist all and 74% spell block with Saffell's frame. 95% in one resist with a flask on top of all that. This is how you facetank map piety. With endurance charges up I got capped resists in an elemental weakness map. And yeah I face tanked a temple map piety with elemental weakness mod + chain. Rest of the team got gibbed and I was the lone spartan left to turn my enemies into lbs of squishy hamburger meat.

Infernal blow is my primary attack, but I can also make an army of pets to assist me with dominating blow.

After playing this game off and on for a long time, I'd like to say I've played a good majority of builds.
I've played physical and elemental bow builds, physical and elemental melee builds, CI and Life crit builds, totem builds, lightning, ice, and fire builds. I've tried unconventional builds and FoTM builds.

Honestly, the viability of skills and the time it takes for the build to mature is what kills the vast majority of options in this game. For example, x build can be an amazing build but doesn't take off until 80+ with 50+ exalts invested into overpowered uniques/rares.
I stopped playing this game not long before the GCP recipe changed only to come back to Anarchy and HC trade chats being full of 20/20 gems for ridiculous prices and nothing but ES gear being sold.

This game is fucking boring since the few builds that actually pay off are all the same:

1) Some ranged build with ridiculous AoE clearing
2) Spork
3) Discharge

It'd be cool to see some other builds work but half the skills scale horribly, don't scale at all, don't work properly, or just aren't designed to be used as main skills.
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG.

My friend, you should see diablo 3. There each class has one, two builds top. One class one build mostly. PoE is a marvel of diversity comparing to others, trust me.

And being on this forum few months top i already encountered several individuals talking about their private totally viable builds that nobody uses. There is still place for exploration here, if not you won't be having FOTM build but FOTY

[Build] TK's CoC Crit Shadow aka THE WELDER /view-thread/787487
[Shop] TK's Adventurers Pawnshop /view-thread/570071
I enjoy my 1 HP / 0 armor facetanker shadow very much.

4,500 ES, all claw nodes, acceleration, gemini, CI, GR, VP, 8000 Dual Strike DPS, 5x granite flasks.

I just blindly charge at stuff and press attack, and more often than now my energy bar fills up faster than they can deplete it :p

But its still so frail and squishy, one mis step, or nothing near to attack to leech from, or frozen, or lagged = dead.

So I still stand back and spam Lightning Strike for safety when I'm close to levelling, but I can successfully face tank every orange name map boss I've fought so far.

I didnt get the idea myself, but the specific build is my own.

And the gear..
Spoiler

Normally I use shavs and low life for the blood rage attack speed, but atm I am trying to get it 6led(god why) so a friend lent me the regalia.
IGN
My level 88.5 Leap Slammer.
Why? Because Leap Slam is my favorite melee skill in the game, and I play 100% solo.

4.3k HP
18.5k AR
9.5k Leap Slam
20.5k Heavy Strike
Grace/Determination/Haste/Purity/Hatred

I use Heavy Strike as single target, but will drop it when he gets dumped back in standard so I can use my Kaom's Heart. Probably will add Carnage Heart, Merginord's and Le Huep's as well as long as I can stay res capped.

Actually I'm on his side . I tried builds with skills that aren't popular but guess what...they are useless...7-8 same builds all around when I'm parting..
BTW should not need lvl 80 to know if build is good or not
And talking about discharge ..That skill always will be useless or overpowered .nothing between ..it should not exist..
elemental damage/lightning strike duel wield marauder. rolling through stuff wonderfully right now.

we shall see with cruel piety soon. vaal was no problem.

My other character is an evasion based EB crit archer. I run arctic armor and 7 auras. It's pretty effective and pretty unique. Has 250 mana/sec so I can maintain lvl 20 arctic armor easily. Very fun character. Still need to finish exalting my gear, but here's what I have so far:

I also have the same char.Care to share passive tree also ? Just to compare builds.
I'm trying to upgrade my gear since I have a crappy 300 ev/ 110 es armour and my mana pool
is only 1600.That means only 6 auras and 300 mana left. But this char came after the respec
so I didn't really have the gear for it.
To crit or not to crit ?
