This thread is absolutely hilarious.
"The desync was terrible and kept making me die and waste my time, but I didn't decide to quit until people had little Razer logo footprints because that is going too far" "RNG makes it nearly impossible to get good items, but I wasn't truly unhappy till people had cosmetic footprints" "These footprints are obviously the slippery slope to banners advertising products to us in game" To all of these the only thing that can really be said is grow up. 1 - if you don't want to see the footprints, just kick people out of your group if they show up with them. no more footprints other than random sightings in town. 2 - throw away your razer mouse. seriously, just toss it, logo is offensive. 3 - the game is free. whatever they want to do to raise money is on GGG. 4 - do little green footprints really destroy the immersive experience of path of exile? are you wandering through the slums of sarn and see the little razer logo trailing behind your heroic leap slam marauder companion, who also has lightning effect weapons and angel wings fluttering around his head, and the sense of fantasy is just RUINED? come on. 5 - if razer logos in game are truly, truly the straw that broke the camels back you just weren't going to last regardless. this is not like where Rakanishu was referenced in Borderlands. it's a literal advertisement in the game. and with the information we have, GGG did not receive money for this. they did not get anything out of this. they just stamped a logo into their game, encouraged their players to use the microtransaction, and they... got... nothing... out of it?
how is it colleagues nodding to other colleagues, as chris put it? how can you put such a blatant advertisement in your game, and not get money for it? did they all give you razer gear to use personally or some shit? is this what you mean by "this is our game"? you just do fuck all because you can? edit: re-arranged EDIT: all of the arguments in here are so duUUuUuUmb "it's free" "you don't have to wear them" don't even dignify those 'arguments' with a response, people. they're skirting around the issue and avoiding what you're actually trying to talk about. it's like i'm on reddit. Yes, they did it because its their game. They spoke with the Razer folks, made a deal, and did it. When you make your own game you can make decisions too.
