Guild Wars 2 removed MAGIC FIND. Does POE need IIQ/IIR?

arenanet is known to make ridiculous decision (permabanning ppl over abuse while it's their own faults.) so we should totally go the opposite way and make more mf stats!

plus GW2 is a casual game. PoE shouldn't even bother to consider any of GW2's gameplay implementation.

I played the hell out of Sacred and never realized this. Wow, just shows that for all of its flaws it had a bit of depth.

That said, that sounds broken in HC leagues.

I think the best way to test some of these ideas would be to introduce an Anarchy-esque league, maybe make it a short run league like one or two months just to see how the population would take such drastic measures like GW2 or Sacred's MF systems. This way the purists have their game, GGG gets what may as well be marketing data and everyone's happy.

Making MF even *more* of a must have, since I would then want all my party to have at least "good" MF.

Personally, I'm ok with this :)

In D2, everyone could choose to make a char for MF and repeatedly kill the shit out of Mephisto, Diablo, etc... to try and build their fortune, or they could make a character for pvp (even though there weren't any events ppl did a lot of that) and wreck havoc on other players. In any case, each choice felt meaningfull and rewarding.

On the other hand in Poe, since almost no one does pvp, there is no true rewarding feeling from giving up MF to put on some high capacity gear (other than showing off to your friends/followers which at least I, am not interested in). You could argue that you can have 2 sets of gears, (1) for MF and (2) for dmg/survivavility etc... but as the game is right now, you will eventually put number (2) gear aside and use the MF one waiting for a reason that you may never find to dust it off :)

So my belief is, that you don't need to nerf or make MF go away, just give player's better incentive and reason to use other gear as well (which other than trying to survive playing some hard builds in HC doesn't exist imho).

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel that removing MF would aid in improving build diversity, although to what extent I cannot say. At the moment, there aren't that many builds (I think) that can readily and easily support a good enough MF/QF rate (say 300/100). If you play anything outside the usual MF builds, chances are you can't really MF if you want to kill efficiently, or otherwise you can't really do higher level content.

"Then MAKE a MF-er!", they'll say.

Yeah I guess that's the way to go for now, and I'm alright if it remains this way. But I wouldn't mind a removal at all.

MF on characters is stupid.

guild wars use uses level system on ALL characters

Diablo 3 uses paragone on ALL characters.

Only PoE is still stuck in 1990....
The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG
