New 0.9.12 Cold crit witch build?
Hi,
let's talk about changes in cold crit witches builds after recent changes to passive skill tree. I personally haven't had enough time yet to go through it, have you noticed any big changes to overall strategy? |

I personally didn't notice any big strategy changes, apart from the shadow area being more accessible and the interesting addition of the Ghost Reaver passive.
I'm a level 48 Ice-crit witch in the making, with 53 passive points. Does this look optimal to you guys? Current gear:

Looks good, although I would invest in shield cooldown recovery rather than the 6% maximum shield and movement speed nodes; still, I'm new to this, so I cant tell for sure.
Also, with the Bloodthirst cluster moved to the upper left branches, the Templar area is starting to look more attractive. Maybe when I'm done with the Shadow area I will try to reach there for buffing the ES from shield defense and improved buffs clusters. EDIT: I'm wondering... there isn't currently any way to leech life through spells, is there? because the Ghost Reaver node would be a cool addition otherwise. What about a good old life leech support gem?
Petrov. |

Great, hadn't noticed that gem; I had the life gained on hit one and kind of assumed that's all there was. It might be worth it to pick a couple of +30 Strength nodes to level it up to a good leech percentage.

Level 72 ice-crit-witch here whos build mony has been copying. I can only say that it looks even better for us. My damage is now 3x3350 in FP (with faster casting + LMP + quantity + rarity supports) and got the same 8400 ES as before.
As someone said in thos thread to put points in ES recovery. I only would points in there if I absolutely had to. I have never had any problems without any points in it, and would not put a point in it even if I had spare ones. The movement speed is a great node btw. The faster you move the easyer you get out of bad situations. ES recovery wont help in that. Infact, I used one of the new points in 3% movement speed. Here is my currnet build with two points left un-used: Last edited by kennae#7483 on Sep 10, 2012, 9:13:07 AM

I indeed copied your build kennae, thank you.
Happy to see my spec approved, gonna spec it and continue to level and advance. Really hoping to see some interesting witch/shadow Ghost Reaver builds. | |
" Oh, good news then :) Ty for your build again. I think I will do it basically the same except that I am sacrificing the +projectile damage nodes for +1 to max Frenzy Charges as I am using Blood Rage. But I haven't done the math so dunno which path would grant more damage in the end. Build Last edited by Balron#5045 on Sep 10, 2012, 9:43:28 AM

I was thinking about this for my new cold crit witch. Going into Templar area now makes more sense...

@Petrov: Why you use Pain Attunement in CI build?
Moving to left side for more crits looks good. I actually missed those nodes. I think I could use them instead some deeper ranger ones (that are more defense-oriented). I don't seem to be dying with 4k+ ES anyway and actually don't care about dying since I hit lvl70. |
