Official Blender Post! Lets theory craft for 1.2! 123k Cleave DPS!

Thanks for the trees g3n3r1c!

Another question. Have I understood right the Cast when Damage Taken gem: Supported gems level requirement have to be lvl 31 or less to work, right? I got confused with the original post, where the supported gems are over 31.

Thanks in advance.

- FT
you don't want to level the Cast when damage taken too far since it will take more damage to trigger linked spells the more you level it, then again, you may want one leveled high to set off a more powerful higher level spell, but since it will take more damage taken to set off a higher level CWDT it will trigger less frequently.

You don't want to level your linked gems too far, the level requirement of the linked gems must be the same or less than the level requirements of the CWDT gem.
A level 1 CWDT gem's level requirement is 31

x2p's build concentrated on heavy damage and specialised in swords and axes, LGoH to make up for low health and low armour.
My build had more life and better armour, but a lot less damage. I also took non-weapon specific nodes so i can equip any weapon, such as sceptres and claws.

Whichever suits your playstyle :)

Wonder if Blood Rage gem would work with this build and could its life leech be enough and trees regen nodes be enough if get a lot chaos res from gear to stay alive even of blood rages negative "status". Lgoh taken away from cyclone aswell. Any thoughts? Long time since I last time playd with my dual strike blender and thought came back with better gear (possible ST etc.) and thought make some changes, like that blood rage, if possible.

It's feasible. You could remove some dps nodes for life regen, equip some chaos res and replace the dps by swapping LGoH with another dps gem. I would suggest weapon elemental or melee damage on full life.

I have done this in the past by swapping LGoH with MDoFL/wed and equipping a 4% life leech amulet or carnage heart. The extra dps gives you even more leech effect.

The problem lies with large groups of enemies. LGoH gives you +54 instant health from every enemy on every attack, but leech will only take your biggest hit on one enemy at any given moment, and it takes at least 5 full seconds to restore life from 1hp to full.

And of course, if you couple the blood rage gem life leech with LGoH, you can become pretty tanky.

Bought now that ST which I have never used before and need collect currencies on leg bor now on other char (100+ ex worth gear on it, but not yet gonna quit it). Everything else i have quite rdy. No regen on gear, -18 chaos res, 3% leech from amu, 2% from tree. Tested lvl1 blood rage gem and it degenerated only rly tiny pit of hp. As i looked wiki, degen doesnt rise at all while lvling gem, but leech rises. Guess could atleast take leech off from tree. Definetly going for it.

Hey guys, I am having some trouble staying ahead of the mana leech requirement. Am I doing something wrong? I am level 71 and my gear is not terrible, I have the mana leech nodes.

I have to take the fire damage gem out and sub in blood magic currently, and i would really like to have that 6K something DPS from the gem.

Any ideas what wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg gear wise? I tried picking up an additional ring with extra mana leech but even with that which bring me to 4% on my gear I still cant stay mana stable. What is the mana leach requirement to be stable?

Thanks!

I can think of a few things you can do:

- drop some attack speed passives and get more phys damage, dps should stay roughly the same but slower attacks means less mana/sec

- change your weapons to a lower attack speed base, like a vaal blade

- curse enemies with warlords mark for extra mana leech

- equip slitherpinch gloves for mana leech

Fiqst, I've been comparing your build vs x2p's and my own,
mine does even less damage but has more health than either which I find has saved my assets on several occasions..
On a side note, I can run Blood Rage with no degeneration on my build and do gain a nice bit of leech and a little dps..

with my gear

x2p's build 6pts left
43k DPS
3200 health

Fiqst's build 9pts left
36k DPS
4300 health

My build - 9pts left
30k DPS
5300 health

there is a definite trade off here, and we can't have the best of both worlds.. with 5300 health I regen 240 health/sec and leech plenty to keep me alive without using LGoH. although I keep one on me just in case.

for what it's worth I still tank lvl 78 maps.
Did you have any issues running a lower health pool?
My tree was closer to yours for a while, and with 4000 helath I was taking one shot RIP's too often, now it's a rarity with over 5k.. but I come close enough to make me think there's something missing..

Also I kept the axe and sword damage nodes since it gave me a fair amount of both DPS and Life compared to other options even with a scepter in my off-hand.
Have another look and let me know what you all think I should change..
