Making Movement Speed an Implicit Property on Boots

Not true at all and you haven't read a damn word I've written.

I did read everything. I answered to quote in first paragraph and went on for more general argumentation further in my post. This one sentence was not directed to you. "You" can be used for plural in English and others were saying:
"
For the other 4 classes, movement speed is basically mandatory
"
Movement speed is the one property that HAS to be on boots ALL the time.
Since both statements are not true, it's only logical to assume they meant their builds.

Lets keep this discussion civil guys.

I think it's a good topic but unfortunately not many people browse the suggestion forum as much as the beta general forum.
Starting from scratch in open beta.
You can't put implicit mods on an item everyone wears it makes no sense, you might as well not have it and just have a higher amount built into the character to start with.
Any boots that don't have movement are auto-salvage. I had one odd pair with 7 stats that were pretty much perfect armor + life boots I tried to give away today because I had no more room and no one even wanted them. My characters don't wear boots until they get high enough level to use the + movespeed affix. I guess increased movespeed is part of character progression so it can't be made an implicit mod without losing a part of that so I'm neither for or against. Finding the pair with +30% and knowing you've got an item worth spending some orbs on is a good part of the game.

Hmm, the person who doesn't want movement speed as an implicit mod has the one class (OK, Duelist might be best at MS, but ranger is a close 2nd) where movement speed isn't a problem as an avatar... Coincidence?

my main is a witch, never cared about movement speed
Ah, so you're slowed by minions and have no need to run away from fast mobs, as the meat shield attract their attention.

First, when I read the original topic, I was like 'good idea!'. But then went and I admit - quite quickly - through the thread and it changed my opinion. I did use boots without move speed, it is not like any boots you use have to have it. It is just handy and the closer you get to 'endgame' the more picky about gear you are. It is natural progression in building your character but not a reason to make a handy mod implicit.

Move speed is like the only defense you need on a glass cannon MF character. And since I don't like those for various reasons and implicit MS would only make the situation easier for them, I have to say 'no' to this suggestion.

The problem is that in default league, much more people have reached the endgame where the endgame is MF gear and movement speed for clearing maps/lvling. It currently takes 2 days to finish all the quests and get to lv57 which is the endgame, so once this game goes OB movement speed will be the standard for every pair of boots regardless of what you believe now.

But isn't it what I said? The game is a progression, I toss every sword without 100% or more IPD, make it implicit then! I think it would make even more sense than implicit MS on boots. People will always pick the good mods (regardless what you believe now - wtf did that mean?).

Anyway the game is not just about endgame (short term leagues and races, first few walkthroughs, casual gamers), but I can see the point and maybe the implicit mod could start appearing on boots over level 60 just like we can see other implicit mods on high level items - spell damage on the robe, all resists on the plate.

Edit: Actually no, it would still be just as bad. Maybe one type, I think dexterity (evasion) boots only, could have this implicit mod. Making it accessible for everyone is bad idea because if devs wanted this they could simply increase the runspeed of characters instead.
