Freeze Mine. Sure, It's nice for support, but I'd like to see someone actually use it as a primary skill.
PS!
Default Attack. It's worse than Elemental Hit.

Why is elemental hit on the list? Isn't that skill very good single target DPS for elemental/crit archers? A lot of elemental builds ranged or otherwise might use that for single target DPS.

Doughnut shock nova.
Wayyyy back when it was a full disk it was op. Once it became a torus where you actually have to align the damage, I've not seen anyone mention it, let alone use it in a build... "We were going to monitor the situation but it was in the wrong aspect ratio."

I feel like people fail at appreciating the fundamentally different gameplay mechanics these skills have to offer. Why i cannot even begin to imagine. I do agree that most of them are very lackluster as single button smashers, but as a supplemenenting mechanic.
Shock nova has the peculiar mechanic of a dead zone in the center. With knockback this could have interesting combinations such as, but definitely not limited to: -bleeding on hit + heavy strike + coc + shocknova + knockback? -fast aps + coc + shock nova + cyclone + knockback? -shockwave totem & shock nova + knockback? -three dragons & a cold skill + knockback -cwdt + shockwave + knockback with unwavering stance & point blank + (skill)? Whirling blades allows you to smash through enemies while also hitting them. From a purely gameplay mechanic perspective, there is only one other skill that allows you to do this; cyclone. Instead of cyclone's "Deals 40% of Base Damage" you get "Deals 80% of Base Damage". With this you could have a very effective bleed/poison/burn delivery system. Think hit & run DOT. This could also turn to a lot of fun with say cybil's paw + crit + quality firestorm. Lightning warp is aoe, movement, spell & duration. There also is a clear example of lightning warp being used by an enemy in the game in a fun way. Elemental hit is by far the most boring one of these, just stack crit, attack speed and use elemental equilibrium, maybe prolif. This is very obviously what the skill was designed for. For ranged this is a proven working skill. For melee it's more of a challenge. Shield charge has a ridiculously powerful "more" multiplier. Not even chin sol can compare. Crit does, but as we all know crit is far too overpowered with it's multipliers. You can combine shield charge with burns and bleeds and poisons. To me it's been very clear since i started playing, that GGG wants players to explore the specific quirks of the various skills and mechanics and heavily abusing them to their advantage. Since you said end game i'll vote for 2-handed, non-crit glacial hammer. Preferably no staves and their block either. |

-fast aps + coc + shock nova + cyclone + knockback?
can't see this creating any kind of desync... anyway: elemental his isnt even that bad tbh. you can use eldritch abttery EH wander with piscators virgil you can still do a shitton of dps >_> its just that powersyphon is better because its cheaper... i think you should do a summon skeletons only build :P Last edited by iHaku#0909 on Nov 22, 2014, 4:51:20 AM
