Ranger changes, for me were garbage, GGG CHALLENGE
"Switch your weapon to something with a lower attack speed. If you find something with similar DPS, but a lower attack speed, you'll reduce your mana costs without hurting your damage. Based on your comment of 58 points, that means you're around level 42-50, right? From http://www.pathofexile.com/item-data/weapon I'd guess that you need to use a good Compound or Sniper bow. |

" Problem with GMP LA is that it's a little too wide an area, meaning you'll rarely hit all 5 projectiles on monsters, while LMP is pretty good size for hitting most monster packs. That being said, LMP alone is definitely better than chain alone, but stacking LMP/Chain is pretty sweet (since you can hit monsters more than once and stack up ridic amounts of aoe dmg). Lightning arrow + LMP + chain + Weapon elemental damage + life gain on hit for 5L.
This was how I was rolling few months back, sweet memories. LgoH > Life steal for LA. IGN: AchiLize Achi's Quality Shop https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/602552 Last edited by biralo#0104 on Jul 16, 2013, 11:41:19 PM

i just happened to pick up a 5 link grove bow like 30 mins after patch (first 5l to drop for me ever), so i respecced my ranger to a classic blood magic la ranger. running la, lmp, chain, life on hit and wed, is working great so far (only level 45ish)
i suggest you fuck that mana regen and go blood magic until you have some really good mana gear Last edited by fsg#3483 on Jul 17, 2013, 4:22:42 AM

Running the same LA/LMP/Chain/LoH/WED setup all the way to level 89. All the gems are now Q20 (especially Q20 on LoH is extremely useful ass it adds another 20 life per hit)
The final improvements I'm looking for are: 1) get a 6L Glare (need about 8 more exa) 2) drop the Blood Magic passive, add a Blood Magic gem as 6th gem. 3) Add 4 more auras (the auras that take a % instead of a fixed amount, which are kind of suicidal on Blood Magic). The most important is Purity for +ele resist 4) respec my +ele resist passives as Purity will take care of them Dear Maligaro,

the big issue i have with the ranger is that you either needed dedicated mana gear ,
spend 10 nodes on mana management. or go blood magic. I use goldwyrm and heat shiver + 120% mana regen then i have the mana nodes in the duelist area for that 40% mana regen and 32% increased mana on top of the 16% increased mana and the 20% mana regen in the ranger tree. and i use a level 11 clarity ( im only level 46) and I cannot spam lightning arrow. I think a fundamental issue with the ranger tree right now is three fold. 1 mana regen is pretty much good only if you have a large mana pool along with clarity. and the ranger cant really get much of a mana pool without going all shadow. 500 mana about the limit. 2 for some reason ggg wants the ranger to be the "potion" class with no less than 5 nodes dedicated to flasks in some capacity. Even her starting mana notable passive has that 20% flask bonus. thing is in end game no one wants to have to waste a flask slot on mana of all things , not when the majority of builds can achieve mana independence . 3 Finally the ranger is dex based , which means alot of her damage will come from attack speed / crit. Attack speed and mana regen hate eachother. In my opinion she needs mana leech on hit nodes. Not the crappy mana on kill nodes but actual % mana leech or mana on hit nodes. That is the only way i can see making a fast attack speed build viable on mana without having to spend a bazillion nodes on mana management. Because there is no way I am going to give up a link on my already limited 5l for a mana leech gem. Last edited by Saltychipmunk#1430 on Jul 17, 2013, 8:48:30 AM

You can clearly see in this thread what the benefit from leveling and developing a character organicly instead of respeccing with a full respec is.
