i sense a strong hypocrisy here
traders are not players. most people with insane gear DO NOT play this game. they do trading only. or 'scamming only' is the better way. you know - the douches that 'Blabla Bla, Bla Bla - offer' waiting for some noob to overprice, the queens of 'lowballers will be ignored' (oh i love to play with them offering them like 3transmutation stacks or whatever just to test what he had in mind) etc people with insane gear are not playing this game. they are playing trading simulator transferring POE wealth to other games via generally known means. they do it in broad daylight and because they fooled devs of all previous games they know what to do to not get caught crafting? them crafting? you are joking. why would people hoarding 300 exalteds and 10 kaoms craft anything when all they are looking for are a) noobs to scam b) orbs to RMT for every PLAYER with godly gear there are 100 traders that in some cases havent even reached mapping. they only flip items for enormous profit. for them it is fun and i dont blame them. but stop the hypocrisy. sad part that only few builds (spork mainly) are not gear dependant. all other - you HAVE to trade for stuff as playing self found is very similar to D3 self-found (and i know that because i have 2 para-lev 50+ self found chars in D3 and 2 80+ self founds in POE - there are no differences on how miserable and inefficient that way is) because i idle in trade chats i started to recognize names of the 'trader-players' - somehow they always have the best uniques on the first day and their orb rates are dreadful. noobs buy into it. this can easily be fixed by vendor recipes like chaos=55alts etc. |

How I accumulated wealth:
Doing Piety runs, found several uniques worth 5 ex+ Rolling items. My friend rolled the best sword in the game and sold it to me for 3 ex, when we realized it was the top sword I sold it for 25 ex and we split it. I rolled the best 6 link chest in anarchy. The guy I sold it to then took it from 600 armour to 1700 through crafting, now he's charging mirror services. After spending 30 ex on it, he will eventually turn a profit. Playing the game and using the systems at your disposal is how you accumulate wealth. My friend's father is a multi-millionaire businessman and my friend gets flack for it all the time, but the truth is his father was working his ass off every day since he was 10 years old to get to where he is. Not everyone who is better off than you got in their position through illegitimate means, that's a very bitter and pessimistic outlook on life. sry ive seen godly and godlys dont lose hp wich wuold pretty much be a smiter with life tap

so if you had such enormous luck - for each one of 'you' there are many, MANY people that got to the same level by buying chaos 1:4 gcp and selling 1:5 multiple times or 'aquiring' several exalts to sell them for 14gcp and buy back for 13. we are watching the same trade chat so you know that this is happening. buy 60alts per gcp, sell 50alts per gcp.. ad nauseum. and you know? it works. it works very very well as there are always people no paying attention. and believe me - it took them less time to get there. and they probably had as much fun as you did - because you know, they like different things than you or me. sadly - as in real life - they are the ones actively pursuing their goals and they set the tone for all of us. without them maybe some of us would do more crafting? currently if you have one exalt only the absolutely insane would craft. getting kripp' trademarked '1 thorns' is so much fun given that exalts drop once a month for some |

Yes, I am clearly implying that you are envious of pixels. I don't think my luck is enormous to be honest, I did piety runs up to level 87, that's several thousand runs. I chaos spammed that armour hundreds of times, spent countless exalts on fusings to get it 6 linked. If you think that buying and selling currencies for profit will have you turning big bucks, you're simply out of your element. It's a waste of time, give it a try and come back when you can speak from experience.

this is waste of time in dead leagues (all of leagues are dead now investment-wise - big players have 100s of exalts [and no, thay are not using them on maps.. lol] and they simply buy on the spot all the new uniques and corner the market. this is how stock market works, this is how priv equity funds work - you get in early or not at all as the potential is the highest then and risk is almost constant)
flipping gcps on a 2nd or 3rd day of a league is a very very easy way of making money. esp if the 'other ways' are used. buying lioneyes for 4ex (typical offer 'wtb lioneyes no links/worst roll possible') divining it and fusing it up to 5l+ and selling for 10ex+ is really easy money. has nothing to do with skill, has nothing to do with fun (in my book) and is very popular. you deny? |
