Stash Viewer

Java is a mess?
Wanna kidding me?

Dont use anything on your computer it can be a risk for you! lol...

The java tool does the following:
If you click Create, it opens up a window with a browser api.
On windows it uses by default the api of internetexplorer.
There you have to log in at the original site of poe.
If you dont trust this browser window, you also can use your original internetexplorer!
After that, click create. It will collect all data from this api:
http://www.pathofexile.com/character-window/get-stash-items?league=onslaught&tabs=1&tabIndex=0

So it does not collect anything from your personal account!

If everyone hates this so much, its not worth to spend any more time on it....
Just wanted to create something helpful.

If you have any problems, check if you can open this site with your internet explorer:
http://www.pathofexile.com/character-window/get-stash-items?league=onslaught&tabs=1&tabIndex=0

If it want to download this file, enable json files to show inline in your browser instead of download it.
http://www.stashviewer.net/IE-Json-enable.reg run this.
After that the text of the json file should be visible inside the browser.
Then the helpertool should work fine.

Even I appreciate your work, I would like to have the option for just copy/pasting content of the http://www.pathofexile.com/character-window/get-stash-items?league=onslaught&tabs=1&tabIndex=0. For something this easy I'm opposed to running some jar on my computer.

Don't take my words personal, mine is a personal preference, I would like to waste 10 seconds instead of downloading some executables which is not open source (something I cannot compile).

I can make the sourcecode public.

I fixed a server side issue which produced the "Loading..." freeze.
Should work now.

Edit:
Source code of the HelperTool:
http://stashviewer.net/StashViewer_HelperTool_source.zip
Can be downloaded on stashviewer.net too.

Firstly, I applaud your ambition and idea, it is pretty cool. I would much rather share the "character sheet" though so people can see each others gear. This could lead to something like WoWHead where you could choose gear to put on the sheet and "create" a character to check out stats and show people.

A program like THAT would be much better and more useful, especially since "Procurement" is amazing, you just can't share the stash with others. It does tons of other great stuff though. The not being able to share isn't a problem though because there really aren't any reasons to share anyway.

This site already supports that function.

Redundant.

Not calling anyone out. But I would not use anything external to input my account information. Ever.

Holy sh*t this thread is full of these comments...

READ CAREFULLY.

This allows you to SHARE your stash view with OTHER PEOPLE. You CANNOT do that with the site or with "Procurement".

Like I said, I can't think of many reasons you would want to share your stash, below is a little rambling on the only possibility I could think of.

Spoiler
I can't think of too many reasons to do this besides a sort of guild shared stash on a mule account held by a GM. The link could be shared with guildmates and they could check the stash to see if there's anything they could use.

Of course, this would need some really good sorting and searching tools to make it practical because a guild stash would have a ridiculous amount of tabs and crap all over the place. Procurement has some really good search, sort, and filter features so if you could do something like that too it would be great for that "shared stash" type of deal.

Only problem is when people want to put something in the stash they have to bother the GM/officers with the information to the "stash account". Now, if there were mailboxes...lol! (Joking).

Don't think there's any other reason to show your stash though. Maybe if you just HAVE to show someone an item while they are out of the game?

Using it to sell on the forums is out of the question because most traders use parsing sites that search the forums for items. Procurement puts them into the thread like a person would do and automates a lot of it, so that's great, but just putting a link to your stash up wouldn't really work because people wouldn't want to sift through a stash instead of using a parsing site which couldn't pick up what was in your stash if you just posted a link to it like that.

Its possible to extend the stashviewer with a "character inventory view".
But only if its really needed.

Well that's a nice way to support security while keeping the feature.

To bad this isn't already build into the poe-website.

btw:
For those of you who still have issues after clicking "create": it seems to depend on the java architecture you use (i.e. 64bit/32bit).
For me it helped to install Java 64bit manually (by going to the java.com-site and clicking on "See all Java downloads" > "Windows Offline (64-bit)" )

I think Java and the Internet Explorer architecture have to be the same (so they use the same port/socket?)
Maybe the author could confirm this.

I checked that, I will add a 32bit and 64bit version of the helper soon.

Edit:
Here a 32bit version:

Is this thing still alive? Frozen with Loading.. -text.
This is a nice project that can help with trading but unfortunately, I refuse to have Java installed on my computer for security reasons. I really hope GGG will come up with their own public stash view. Also lol at all the people who entirelly missed the point :)
