same problem here, cant install PoE (exception - bad allocation eror). The funny thing is, i was playing PoE 1 year ago (worked fine), but had to uninstall it. Now i wanted to try the new 2.5 update, but cant install.. (My PC didnt change from the last time i played PoE)

I cant install the game as well on my other pc running win xp 32bit. Soon after the patcher starts I get 'bad allocation'. Here is a crash file:

Just in case anyone else having this problem now. I just had it and nothing seemed to work on fixing it.
The thing is... if you are using razer cortex, just 'restore' instead of remain 'boosted' and it will do the job ;) Hope it helps someone.

I had this issue, I fixed it by putting the .exe into compatibility mode for Windows 7 (even though that's what I'm using already) and set it to run in admin mode. I don't know which one did it, but it works now.
edit: I also reinstalled as well.

I had it on the wife's computer but not mine. All I did was close and re start and then it took forever to get out of checking resources but now it is working. SLOWLY. On both computers.
