I needed 4 specific sockets out 6 sockets. Here you can see what I needed, and finally managed to get (after a lot of chroms). You can even get 6 off color sockets on an item, the problem is just that the chance is very low, because yea, as you said, the RNG isn't totaly random. So let's say that on an eva chest you will have 4(exemple) more chances to get a green socket, it doesn't mean that you can't get blue ones, it's just that you have less chances.
