Missing Melee and Abilities Isn't Fun!

I dont think evasion and dodge need to be removed. Its just that they have evolved in some other games to another new level. I play a lot of games and at the end it is all about the good feeling when you play and when you quit (damn i dont want to quit).

I can compare games. I see a lot of love put in PoE by the devs. The skilltree is awsome. But i also see and feel some flaws. One of them is the miss-factor wich doesn't seem in place in this game. Not in 2012 anymore i mean. Not in the oldfashion static mathematical way they have implemented it. Not so dominant for certain levels, builds and character.

People like me dont have the Ego and mindset to think that games like Poe are made for the elitist who think that complexity by it self is enjoyable. Its a game i want to play every minute and i hope it will appeal to millions.

One of the worst things in D3 where the defence stats. Not that it should have bin removed, but the dominant factor in beating the game till a point that it forgot to be a good and enjoyable game.

My point is that Some classes with certain playstyle suffer way to much from the accuracy mechanic. its way to dominant.

I have given the example of my Templar 2h staff-build in recent post incl my skilltree. I dont want to play him anymore period. I have the feeling others will to if they encounter the same sort of problems.

Examples are new character/players who play there first levels in PoE and think wtf is this miss mechanic. You can find lot of posts on the forum.

I just hope it gets some attention and discussion.

And yet, you and EVERY other person who dislikes missing has an option to remove that mechanic. You can take Resolute Technique, and never miss again. I agree, it might be a bit of a sprint on the skilldrassil to take it, but it's there. I would say move it to an easier area for the Strength based classes to take it (midway between Templar and Marauder would work) so that you can get it slightly easier without having to take so many passives that it hurts your character.
Let me share a little secret with you. Respec points are not here if you make a mistake, they are here so you can later remove points you don't need any more. Early go for Dex and accuracy and whatever you need. Later when you got items to replace these passives remove them and take something more useful.

I do this with all my characters.

This miss mechanic in it's current state has really put me off playing the game. As a templar I seem to miss every 2nd hit, and I can't tell the difference between lag or a miss, since there is no feedback at all. I don't know why but every time I see a miss it looks exactly like lag i've experienced in a bad mmo and I can't bear it.

The RT node near the Templar would be a solution i agree. He needs it more then any other char in Poe.

The thing with templar is that he is the char most far away from dexnodes=acuracy and when i started playing him, his area of nodes are all about elemental and fysic damage. I thought the templar was designed to be a tanky mellee that could use elemental damage. Cool.

But after playing and lvling to 45 it became clear to me that theres a lag of enough life increase nodes near by = tanky and also the lag of dex=means that missing becomes a real problem.

So to overcome this accuracy problem you need gear with a lot of acc rating. Spec in acc nodes which i did (10) Finding this gear has to do with luck. The staff-nodes are also situated near the templar so i thought cool i want to specialize in it, but the problem is that staff not often have acc on them. At least not the good ones i found and i found a lot.

When i would level a templar again (dont think i will tbh) i would build him towards the marauder 1st so i can have life, resist and as soon as pos the RT node. Maybe if i reach 50 and beyond i can think about the elemental damage nodes and can go towards the witch.

But the moment i think about it: i would choose to play a marauder. What s the point of playing templar=mellee if it has those basic flaws.

I have asked myself if its just me, but the few templar streams @ twitchtv i saw they had the same problems. Accuracy around 70% damn thats awfull. So as Templar you are forced to go the RTnode route. Its just no fun and frustrating if you are not aware of it.

So maybe my critic about the miss-factor has also a lot to do with me playing a Templar.
