Unique items don't seem all that unique

Energy Shield: (42–48)
Requires Level 32, 54 Int
+10 to Dexterity
+10 to Intelligence
(50-70)% increased Energy Shield
35% increased Movement Speed when on Full Life
(10-15)% increased Block and Stun Recovery
Shavronne raced to Brutus' side,
her last hope against the Karui tide.

Amazing.

îd love to find those in a race with a energy shield character. 35% Movement Speed is sick.

They dont have a other use however...

I'm not seeing any real uniques that are niche in any way. Most are the same type of drop that you get from regular, blues or rares.

Maybe you are thinking of a different game? Or maybe you have a poor understanding of 'niche' and 'unique'?

Yeah the unquies in this game are pretty underwhelming. D2 had much better unquies items that when you found one you were excited. You knew it would make you more powerful. I liked how overpowering some of the unquies in d2 were, and the content was balanced perfectly around it.

Also set items were awesome but for some reason ggg hates them. They can be balanced if the sets are focused around a build and are really good once the whole set is completed but not the best out there. The d2 sets were good and worn at end game but eventually replaced. Or you would mix and match a few set items. Also great for twinking and facerolling content. Oh well.

Yeah, they have the highest movement speed of any item. Quite awesome really. Of course it's best for CI users and useless for low life builds.

Now, go find another 73 which you consider non-unique uniques.
Brutus. Do you even sync?

I think they are terrible and not useful in races. At lvl 20 you have boots with 20% speed, at lvl 40 25% speed and at 50 30% speed. All of those shoes will have much better stats, including energy shield. If it was a lvl 10 item, it would be cool. Also 35% speed is a lot of rubberbanding. Only useful for es chars, and early game es builds are not so good ;/ so tell me please how that unique is so awesome. You use them in act III of normal, when everything deals chaos damage, so you will have no speed bonus at all quite often. It's not good compared to any rare es shoes with movement speed and resists. It's good when you don't have any other shoes, but going to cruel you will need those resists. So yeah, awesome item.

Even this has more meta.

Another unique thats just a curiosity

And another one.

Those are the items no one will use, because they are not as good as a remote white/blue item of their respective level.
I somehow have the feeling that the op isnt too deep into PoE yet. Once youve played around a bit youll see that there are a lot of uniques, wich enable specific builds as the others already stated. PoE has in fact the uniquest uniques :D of all diablo like games ive played since d2
IGN: Emwega
that could be. I'm only in the low 40's ATM
TrapperKeeper's got it. they are unique and are not legendary

they are not supposed to be any more than interesting unique items that have no real equivalent found in non-uniques.

where can your find 30+ IIR?

where can you find a 6 link at level 1?

where can you find 100% increased attack speed on a bow?

where can you find conduit if you're nowhere near the keystone?

or inability to be frozen, burned, electrocuted?

gaining a power charge when an endurance charge is spent or expires?

+1000 max life?

how do you get a 7L?

or make your character 10% smaller?

some of these things aren't that great, but you can't say they aren't unique...

Go see D3s uniques and then come back and talk about PoE's like that lol These uniques are a godsend in this game
